Help us tell our story. ICF is seeking a creative and detail-oriented candidate to actively engage in proposal writing, solutioning and new content development to support the growth of our Utility Programs and Services (UPS). ICF’s UPS division works with utilities across North America to make homes and businesses more energy-efficient, deliver programs that increase adoption of electric vehicles, and design and deliver new programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to develop the structure of our proposal narrative, write compelling, persuasive proposal content, and continuously build the UPS content library to describe ICF’s cutting edge services and capabilities. Secondary responsibilities include writing new content on priority industry issues and creating story-driven presentations that describe ICF’s services and capabilities.
This is a unique opportunity that combines the skills of a strong business writer with an understanding of how to best structure and enrich content to tell a compelling story.
Key Responsibilities
Research, organize, and write discrete sections within a proposal, including but not limited to, executive summaries, technical proposal content, pricing narratives, and sections identified as needing concierge support during proposal review periodsProvide guidance to technical lead writers on how to structure their section responses.Attend strategy sessions with technical experts and proposal leads and ask probing questions to facilitate solutioning and ensure complete, accurate, and knowledgeable responses to client/RFP instructions, questions, and evaluation criteriaParticipate in color reviews through the proposal process lifecycle to modify/shape content so that solutions proposed to meet a client’s unique needs clearly presents the unique benefits and value of ICF’s approach, staff and experienceIncorporate edits and comments from reviewers to prepare a winning proposal that clearly shows the benefits/value of selecting ICFWork with proposal team to develop editable graphics and visuals that simply convey complex ideas, features, processes, and other information to improve a proposal’s readability. Coordinate with the graphic designer if/when necessary.Continuously identify new and updated content during each proposal effort for inclusion in the UPS content library, and scrub it for publication.Develop presentations for key clients and proposal effortsSupport marketing efforts by writing and contributing to blog posts, white papers, and other marketing contentTeach us something new! BA or BS in English, American Studies, Journalism, Communications, or related field.At least 3 years of experience in journalism, proposal writing, grant writing, or technical writing4 years of direct experience writing commercial and industrial energy efficiency or electrification content, papers, or proposals can be substituted for degree and years of experience.What We’d Like You to Bring with You

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$69,862.00 - $118,765.00Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
