Business Development Representative

Our client is a trusted source in the commercial HVAC industry. They are looking for a full-time Business Development Representative to join their team based in Ottawa, Ontario.

In this role, the Business Development Representative is responsible for driving sales growth by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, and promoting the company’s HVAC products and services. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to identify market needs, develop sales strategies, and achieve sales targets.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:

Developing and implementing a comprehensive sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base. Identifying new business opportunities and potential markets for HVAC products and services. Conducting market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities. Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers, including contractors, engineers, architects, and building owners. Conducting regular follow-ups and providing exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. Handling customer inquiries, providing product information, and offering technical support as needed. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including project leads, partnerships, and strategic alliances. Attending industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the company’s products and services. Preparing and delivering compelling sales presentations and contracts / proposals to prospective clients. Maintaining a thorough understanding of the company’s HVAC products, services, and solutions. Staying informed about new product developments and industry advancements. Preparing regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to provide insights and recommendations to management. Tracking and analyzing sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and growth. Utilizing CRM software to manage customer relationships and sales activities effectively.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Outside sales experience with a proven track record of achieving sales targets. Outside sales experience in the HVAC industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, products, and services. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel frequently to meet with customers and attend industry events. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment:

This is a field-based position that requires regular travel to customer sites and occasional office work. May require occasional work outside of standard business hours to accommodate customer schedules and project timelines.
