About this position: The Business Development Sales Engineer is responsible for identifying and perusing new electric business opportunities by building/ maintaining strategic relationships, conducting in-depth market analysis, and negotiating contracts. The engineer will perform effective modeling, design, budgeting, and execution of various projects and initiatives while coordinating with other functional groups to meet expected outcomes and strategic direction of the company. About this job: + Use sound analytical skills to model, analyze, propose solutions for growth and recommend long range strategies for customer/load growth + Address technical challenges or issues that arise during the process or implementation phase. + Work on complex opportunities where technical specifications, compliance, and integration with existing systems are crucial. May be involved in the installation and implementation phases to ensure that the customer's needs are met. + Work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and demonstrate how the company's products or services meet those needs. This involves creating customized solutions, providing technical support, and sometimes even assisting in the design of systems that fit the customer's specifications. + Combine engineering knowledge with sales skills. Should understand the utility company's products or services in-depth, such as power generation equipment, transmission systems, or software solutions. + Develop strategic relationships + Conduct market analysis and identify emerging trends or risks + Prepare presentations and present to management and/or customers + Coordinate projects between stakeholders from other affected departments + Design electric facilities to NorthWestern Energy standards + Ensure that cost estimates meet company standards and current tariffs + Maintain compliance with all related standards including industry and regulatory + Perform computer related functions such as engineering analysis, drawing, spreadsheets, and database compilations + Perform individual lifts up to 25 lbs + Provide engineering for growth, expansion and extensions projects + Provide project oversite + Respond to customer growth/expansion request, including site visits + Survey and inspect routes + Travel to jobsites, off-site meetings, and trainings (up to 15% travel per year) including overnight stays when necessary + All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics + Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives Am I right for this job?
