Business Development/Sales Manager
**Description** **Job Title:** Business Development/Sales Manager **Location:** Los Alamitos, CA **Reports to:** Division Manager **FLSA Status:** Exempt **Salary Range:** $140K - $160K **Prepared By:** Human Resources **Prepared Date:** 10/25/2024 **Core Hours:** 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, M-F, flexible hours possible Additional hours outside the above times/days may be required to support project activities. Periodic travel outside the SoCal area may be required. **Position Description:** Seeking an individual to spearhead our Automation Division’s Industrial and Process Control business development activities. **Qualifications – Required:** + At least 10 years of experience in customer service, marketing or a sales-related field + Extensive experience selling industrial and process automation services + Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to closing + Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques + Extensive contact list of Southern California customers utilizing industrial automation and process control + Basic understanding of PLC/DCS automation systems and instrumentation from both the hardware and software aspects + Excellent knowledge and experience with MS Office products + Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills + Enthusiasm for the company and its growth potential **Qualifications – Desired but not required:** + Educational background in business, marketing, or finance or an engineering/technical discipline + Proven success rate at levels above sales quota **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Conduct high-level industry research to develop effective sales solutions + Create and execute a strategic sales plan, establish sales metrics and set targets + Compile sales metrics and realistic forecasts and review with management to ensure that company sales objectives are met + Seek and identify new project opportunities and clients + Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs + Engage existing customers to assist in developing new after project opportunities and resolve any potential customer complaints + Respond to inquiries about the company’s services and offerings + Promote other divisions as part of an overall turnkey company offering + Participate in collaborative business meetings to update key stakeholders + Perform site/customer visits, as needed, to gather project information + Lead efforts to determine project viability prior to expending substantial estimating hours/resources + Collaborate with our estimating resources, as needed, to generate both ROM and detailed estimates and associated proposals This position is subject to a background check, drug test and ability to prove Covid vaccination status. **Language Skills:** Ability to read, interpret and analyze routine business communications and to compose standard business correspondence. Must be able to present information, data, facts and figures across all organizational levels. **Physical Demands:** Physical demands of this job range from working in a traditional business office (i.e., sitting, talking, using a computer, etc., in an environmentally controlled environment) to a variety of construction sites requiring walking on rugged or uneven terrain, climbing, kneeling, bending. Worksites could be located underground in tunnels or in high-rise construction.
