Position Overview\: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead our Data Center Services Consulting practice. This role will focus on enhancing Schneider Electric’s presence and capabilities within the Data Center market, with an emphasis on ensuring top-notch consulting services for clients in power quality audits, energy management, system installations, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities\:

1.  Data Center Consulting & Design\:

a.  Utilize knowledge of data center redundancy, operation, and installation practices to design and manage complex data center projects. Develop strategies for optimizing data center thermal flow, humidity, air quality, and overall environmental conditions.

b.  Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of data center equipment including electrical power panels, power transformers, UPS systems, generators, fire suppression systems, CCTV, and BMS software systems.

c.  Design and Executing the Project of Installation of Physical Data center equipment like HT/ LT Electrical power panels, Power Transformers, UPS systems, 48V DC systems, Generators, Earthing System, Lightning Arrester system, Foam Fire suppression & Gas Fire suppression systems, CCTV, Access Control Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Water leak detection systems and raised floors. Building Management systems (BMS software operation and design knowledge)

d.  Asset Management and Document management (Preparation of Data Center Layout to maintain Client Rack details, CRAC unit and UPS PDU details. Labelling of Racks, power cable and Data Cables and maintain the Records)

e.  Access Control and Security Management. Ensure the Safe access to the Data Center visitors and following standard Data Center Access procedures.

f.  Operation and maintenance Knowledge of Data Centre Cooling Units, Hot Aisle and Cold Aisle design racks installation. Hot Aisle containment systems.

g.  Preparation of Daily reports, Incident Reports, Method statements, standard operation procedure.

h.  PUE (Power Usage Efficiency) Calculation.

i.  Risk assessment, Fire Evacuation procedures.

2.  International Standards Auditing\: Conduct audits according to recognized industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, TIA, ASHRAE) to ensure compliance with best practices for data center design, operation, and energy management.

3.  Risk Management & System Assessment\: Evaluate data center electrical and mechanical systems for Single Point of Failure (SPOF) vulnerabilities. Lead risk assessments, fire evacuation procedures, and ensure all systems are optimized for performance, security, and safety.

4.  Energy & Power Quality Audits\: Lead power quality and energy audits to identify opportunities for improvement in data center energy usage and efficiency. Conduct PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) calculations and develop strategies to improve energy efficiency.

5.  Team Training & Development\: Lead training efforts to ensure team members stay updated on industry advancements, safety regulations, and operational protocols. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

6.  Compliance & Safety Standards\: Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and local electrical power systems and fire system procedures. Work to ensure the safety and compliance of all consulting projects.

7.  Skills and Qualifications\:

a.  Technical Expertise\: In-depth knowledge of data center systems, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire suppression, and security systems. Expertise in system redundancies, thermal flow analysis, and CFD analysis.

b.  Industry Knowledge\: Strong understanding of Uptime Institute, TIA, and ASHRAE standards for data center design and operation.

c.  Experience in Audits & Risk Assessments\: Proven experience conducting energy and power quality audits and system risk assessments in large-scale data centers.

d.  Project Management Skills\: Ability to manage and execute large-scale projects, from design to installation, ensuring efficient timelines and budget management.

e.  Communication & Leadership\: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders. Proven leadership ability to manage and develop a team.

f.  Certifications\: Certifications in relevant standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, ASHRAE) and project management are a plus.

Education and Experience

·  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).

·       10-12 years of experience in the electrical engineering domain, with proven expertise in site execution of systems such as switchgear, transformers, protection devices, and energy audits.

·  Consulting experience with Big 4 or equivalent firms in the power and energy sector will be an added advantage.

Technical Expertise

·  Comprehensive understanding of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems, power quality improvement, energy efficiency measures, and digital energy management solutions.

·  Knowledge of asset management consulting, including lifecycle assessment, risk analysis, and optimization strategies.

·  Familiarity with data center power systems, energy optimization frameworks,  TIER certification, HVAC etc. and sustainability best practices
