Business Engineer

ALQIMI is currently seeking a Business Engineer to support its National Security Solutions Group (NSSG). NSSG offers complete solutions – data, software & services - to clients centered around ALIQMI’s proprietary software products. Client missions range from supply chain risk management, intelligence analysis, counterintelligence and intelligence operations, federal law enforcement investigations, CBRN real-time alerts and warnings, emerging technologies and trends, threat finance and illicit procurement, foreign influence and control mitigation planning, and more. 

ALQIMI’s FORGE™ application is used by the USG to make better decisions about companies they partner with, contractors they hire and what individuals they allow access to proprietary information. ALQIMI’s FORGE™ is also able to tip USG organizations as to what entities they should be researching, monitoring or analyzing. The use of FORGE™ on a particular contract in 2023 resulted in two investigations within two months of being operational. 

ALQIMI’s RAAVN™ application is used by the USAF & JPEO to detect Integrated Early Warnings related to CBRND threats around the world analyzing unstructured, publicly available data using machine learning- and statistical based anomaly detection. 

ALQIMI’s SPEAR™ (still in development) application will be the only purpose-built solution accessible to clients and partners seeking to maximize intelligence surrounding the OUSD’s fourteen critical technology areas. 

The selected Business Engineer (“BE”) will support all efforts by the NSSG to empower government agencies, acadamia and commercial organizations to utilize ALQIMI solutions to fulfill their missions. The BE will benefit from direct exposure to the missions and business, an incredible opportunity for an eager-to-grow professional who would thrive from working directly with very experienced professionals on the “front-line” of the effort. 

The BE can be located in Charlottesville, VA or Washington DC (if in DC, be prepared to report to either Arlington, VA or Rockville, MD office on hybrid basis). 

Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will report to the VP/Head of NSSG and support his BD efforts. This support includes a combination of the following: 

Researching Prospects for Intelligence. Effective engagement is maximized with prominent levels of prospect intelligence. The BE will help gather intelligence about its prospects.  Writing Marketing & Proposal Materials. A full sales cycle includes many stages requiring diverse types of documentation. The BE will support all aspects including presentations, white papers, proposals, RFP submissions and other collateral.  Demoing ALQIMI Applications/Tools. The BE will be expected to become a proficient user of FORGE enabling the BE to demo the application for marketing or training purposes. Customer Success Manager. In some cases, the BE will be asked to help manage new customers. Acting as the “customer success manager” the BE will ensure the client’s satisfaction through attentive interaction with the client and a watchful eye on the statement of work.  Grow Revenues Through New Account Acquisition. Independently, and as part of a team, pursue sales of products and services through direct sales efforts including RFP submissions, cold-contacting, marketing, conferences, and networking.  Accept Dynamic Tasking. ALQIMI prides itself on being highly responsive to its customers and prospects. The candidate will need to be agile and committed to undergoing whatever is necessary to ensure success and progress.  Achieve Viper Team Status. The Viper Team is ALQIMI’s prestigious analytical group. To achieve membership, candidates must demonstrate certain proficiencies in ALQIMI’s core analytical business. The selected BE will be eligible for Viper Team membership.  Continuously Learn. Part of ALQIMI’s success is dependent on all team members understanding the latest AI/Analytics/Big Data methodologies so we can develop our own best-in-class solution. Must Have Qualifications 

Passion for the FORGE™ and SPEAR™ mission areas and all things related to National Security.  A US Person with a US Security Clearance or willingness to apply for one  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Experience in national security missions (government and/or commercial)  A stellar reputation within national security environments and agencies  High competency for using web-based tools, reporting mechanisms, and communications platforms 

Desired Qualifications 

Some experience in defense government contracting and acquisitions processes, with some understanding of types of contract vehicles, acquisition strategies, and government contracting opportunities portals  Some background in proposal and capture processes for defense contracting opportunities (RFP responses or unsolicited proposal development). Training will be provided through ALQIMI to support growth and competencies in this area.
