Introduction to the job
Act as the sparring business partner of the Head of Planning, Logistics & Facilities (PLF) and staff members regarding data analysis and insights related to process improvements as well as Business Engineering critical competencies such as resource management, performance management, cycle time, installation cost management, and quality.
Role and responsibilities
The role involves collaboration throughout a broad and complex network of stakeholders across different departments within PLF as well as outside (e.g., Development & Engineering), including interacting at different management levels in the organization. You take ownership in defining direction, creating structure, and defining standard work that will ensure sustainable process improvements while securing data integrity and reliability.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Develop a clear vision and understanding of how the Business Engineering competencies should be embedded in the PLF department and how they interconnect with other strategic priorities and running processes.
Support the Breakthrough projects portfolio of the PLF department by leading the quantification of business cases as well as the definition of other quantitative calculation models and quantitative decision data.
Define quantitative models to calculate, drive, and mature resource management (e.g., capacity requirement planning models, analysis of workload drivers), which is critical input to the financial planning process.
Drive and strengthen the Performance Management Framework across the PLF organization (including orchestrating the monthly operational performance reviews and supporting the underpinning of the Hoshin Kanri / Target Setting).
Manage business analytics requests of the department (e.g., Dashboards, implementation, RPA). Support and advise stakeholders of the PLF department in underpinning requirements, expected business benefits, and connection to overall performance aspects. Prepare presentations for executive management.
Benchmark the execution of Business Engineering competencies beyond the department (e.g., in other factories/organizations or via the Business Engineering competence center) and identify improvements.
Prioritize workload and requests for the total PLF department in alignment with the business engineers of the department where applicable. Make recommendations and drive discussions within the PLF team
Coach and support junior business engineers regarding workload and improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with the Lean business partner of the PLF department to maintain a unified approach towards driving continuous improvement in the organization
Education and Experience
Master’s degree in industrial engineering, operations, supply chain management, or usiness administration
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Manufacturing, Service, Supply Chain, Engineering, Demand/Supply Planning, Lean, or other related functions combining data analytics, operations, and process improvements.
Knowledge of production, installation, new product introductions, and service processes in a highly technological environment.
Experience with Lean manufacturing, Agile, and Continuous Improvement; Six Sigma experience is a plus.
Change management experience in implementing new ways of working in complex organizations.
Preference for experience with IT systems in production-control (Excel, SAP, SAP ME/BO, Spotfire).

The Business Partner role is part of the Business Engineering department within the Operational Excellence organization within the EUV Factory. The Business partner collaborates and advises the Planning, Logistics, and Facilities (PLF) management teams from a data insights and process improvement standpoint to realize the strategic goals of their specific departments. The Business Partner is assigned to the PLF department and will be part of the Staff/Management Team of the Head of PLF.
