The Opportunity 

Roche diagnostics has a broad portfolio across six customer areas that include our widely-used molecular, pathology, point-of-care and core solutions in conjunction with our provider insights and lab insights information solutions. The Business Operations Team works as part of the Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) function to help each customer area within DIA track and manage their portfolio from a strategic vantage point. 

Responsibilities 

Help Project & Portfolio Management to boost performance using data science, reporting, and data analysis methods and principles to generate deeper insights from a great variety of internal and external data sources 

Identify needs, help design and implement analytical solutions, provide advice and consulting support to key business stakeholders

Show value by executing proof-of-value initiatives, prototyping analytical solutions to answer business questions.

Support raising analytics maturity in the areas of FAIR data, used technologies, actionable business processes, needed capabilities and according mindset.

Include RDS and RIS internal and external stakeholders to participate in data insights generation and data sharing

Support proactive identification of the most relevant analytical use cases in collaboration with the business stakeholders, while being fully embedded in the RDS and RIS business areas

Business Partner and connector within Project & Portfolio Management Analytics & Insights, other RDS and RIS Insights teams and DIA IT

Assess the value of various predictive analytics use cases, understand their feasibility, business impact and lead their pre-IT development and later implementation

Communicate findings and market the value of use cases to key stakeholders in business, data science and IT teams

Proactively identify process automation & digitization use cases. Guide & lead improvement initiatives with appropriate methodologies like robotics or low coding

Leverage knowledge in business planning, portfolio management, project management, resource management, risk management and project planning to boost business insights generation

Who you are 

BS degree in mathematics, statistics, science, engineering, or computer science. MS is preferred

5+ years of experience in scientific, quantitative, or computer science field

Deep and broad knowledge of project management methodologies, including their application, capability building and management, and process ownership and oversight. Understanding the specific needs of the diagnostics industry and regulated product development and support.

Strong experience in matrix leadership, preferably with a track record of creating and leading diverse, global teams and/or matrix leadership in a technology-based industry at an enterprise level.

Willingness to travel 5% to 15% of the time.

Fluent in English (verbal and written), knowledge of German is a plus.
