Business Intelligence Analyst III

Job Summary 

Provide requirements analysis, process documentation and conversion of reporting related business needs to technical plans for moderate and complex business problems and assist in designing solutions.  Provide project management support for reporting projects, facilitating the collaboration among multiple teams to accomplish the desired solution.  The position is the main point of contact on the reporting team for communicating defined technology solutions to meet the needs of internal and external clients for assigned projects. 

 

Job Functions

Project management for internal reporting projects Project participation in projects related to reporting functions Collaborate with team members to collect, analyze and interpret data Documentation of requirements, projects, processes, training, etc. Develop and execute test plans Conduct data analysis and data quality assessment Problem resolution Effectively communicate with all levels of business – internal and external Develop and execute advanced Microsoft SQL queries Process Improvement  Impact analysis  Root Cause Analysis Escalation to management as needed

 

Key Job Responsibilities

Lead, and participate in as necessary, the activities related to consulting with end users to define the scope and objectives of requests, identifying requirements based on end user feedback - including project needs, documentation, training, etc.  Conduct high-Level impact analysis on client requests for reporting support and provide results  Project specification documentation on requested services to meet business needs, including solution design documentation Lead and participate in the activities involved in developing a comprehensive and logical test plan to confirm the end user requirements are met Facilitate user acceptance testing and post production validation Performs necessary investigation, analysis and evaluation to determine project feasibility. Collaborate with development to provide work effort and resource estimates and timelines for requests and projects Analyze, explore and interpret data to assess quality and meaning of data Scrutinize data to recognize and identify patterns Identify corrupted data, coding errors and collaborate with team to resolve issues Working with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.  Prepares routine project status reports and estimates project-staffing requirements. Produces business and functional specification documentation based upon client needs. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff, internal and external to the company. Provides problem analysis and resolution support for existing applications. Demonstrate ability to determine trends and communicate critical problems with recommended resolution. Direct, continual communication with management and end users on project status and progress Conduct process improvement analysis and identify areas for improvement Reporting project prioritization and coordination with internal clients for support and services Evaluation and consideration of project effects on systems, peripheral applications, etc. Coordinate and participate in activities associated with assigned projects including estimation of work effort, establishing timelines, monitoring project tasks to ensure project schedule is being met and maintaining project files that are well documented and organized.  Proactively oversee the activities involved in quality resolution of issues related to assigned projects, following through to completions and communicating resolution results to end user.  Ensure timeline and accurate resolution and recommending alternative solutions Escalate to supervisor any situation that could adversely impact the services provided Cooperate with team members to meet goals or complete tasks. 

 

Other Related Duties

Position requires independent management of all IT needs associated to Clients. Must be able to handle all client situations. Perform other duties as requested.

Job Requirements 

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent.Minimum 5 years experience in Information Technology, 3 specifically in reporting and  data analysis.Minimum 1 year intermediate level programming in SQL, Oracle, Python, SSRS or PowerBIMinimum 2 years Data Analytics skills – analyzing and interpreting large data sets, correlating data, data profiling, cleansing and data management.Minimum 1 year experience using Azure technology (Synapse, PySpark and/or Data Factory).Minimum 1 year project management or technical lead experience, including scoping and building a work breakdown structure for functional areas
