Business Intelligence Director Location MANSFIELD TEXAS Hours Needed M-F, 8:00AM - 5:00PM Requisition Number 18148 Apply Now (https://phf.tbe.taleo.net/phf03/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=MOUSER&cws=40&rid=18148) The Business Intelligence Director will provide leadership for a cross-functional team consisting of Business Intelligence developers and data analysts responsible for the development of analytics and reporting for our organization. Maintains and drives project milestones, analytics and data brain storming sessions, coordinates development planning and activities with IT and business teams. This position works within a highly interactive team environment and works closely with both functional and technical staff to manage and provide daily direction, analytics innovation and implementation of a data driven business culture. Provides leadership in business analytics, motivation and career development while optimizing resources and staff schedules. ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Stay on top of emerging cutting-edge applications and processes related to ETL, data warehouse management, business intelligence and analytics for appropriate business needs and communicate assessments to the team and management. • Possess sound BA (Business Analysis) and PM (Project Management) skills. • Provide technical training to business users. • Ensure alignment of projects with corporate goals by monitoring, planning, prioritizing, work assignments and executing activities. • Keep track of multiple BI initiatives and provide regular status updates to senior leadership. • Build relationships with stakeholders, lead BI requirements gathering process. • Facilitating complex, cross-team business process analysis. • Defining best practices and standards for data, reporting, and analysis. • Work with Data Warehouse and data engineers/business analysts to improve quality and coverage of data sources. • Demonstrate thought leadership across a comprehensive range of data sources. • Own and oversee development roadmaps to build scalability and automation into reporting and analysis. • Ensure development projects are scoped and delivered timely and accurately to meet requirements of both business and IT. • Support project management efforts in estimating, planning, scheduling, and assigning projects to development staff. • Coordinates with worldwide resources to assign and monitor departmental assignments. • Monitors, develops, and leads a highly skilled team of DBA’s, Data Scientists and Business Intelligence Analysts. • Develops and maintains a productive work teams by hiring qualified personnel, training, and managing performance. • Manages teams with integrity, ethical business practices, and in accordance with Mouser policies, procedures, and practices. • Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more full-time employees or their equivalent. Makes suggestions and recommendation for these employees regarding performance, including hiring, transfer, advancement, and termination. • Manages daily operations to meet department and company objectives. • Works with minimum supervision and makes independent judgments. • Flexible to meet the changing needs of the business and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments. • Initiates, establishes and maintains highly effective relationships with internal and external business contacts of various cultures, and at all levels. • Extremely confidential and trustworthy. • Demonstrates knowledge, experience and understanding of critical job function of the team and people management. • Assists management with development of results oriented strategies. • Regular attendance at work is an essential part of the job. SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS • Possess strong business acumen and the ability to communicate technology and business analytical concepts clearly to non-IT and analytics stakeholders. • Hands on experience with Information modeling, report development in MicroStrategy, SSRS and Tableau. • In addition to the solid data analytics skills, strong people management skills required to be considered for BI Director. • Proven experience in migrating current BI assets to a new BI platform and in building BI solutions from ground up. • Ability to perform information management assessments (needs, security, data quality etc.) and create BI strategy, road map. • Ability to accurately estimate components of the BI solution facilitate planning. • Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels. • Strong communication, mentoring / coaching skills, and influencing/leadership skills. • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. • Strong organizational skills. • Strong multitasking ability. • Strong attention to detail. • Very good written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to effectively document procedures and policies. • Ability to analyze the impact of decisions/changes before execution. • Demonstrated strong desire and ability to stay current with industry trends, best practices, technologies, and tools. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. In lieu of a degree, 3 years as a BI Manager or a higher-level position. In addition to the above the following experience is required: • Internal candidates: Minimum 4 years of management experience including a minimum 2 years as a highly performing Mouser BI Manager or other equivalent management position. • External candidates: Minimum 5 years of management experience, including 3 years as a BI Manager or a higher-level management position. • Direct management experience in delivery of complex BI solutions in a data warehousing environment with strong project management skills.
