Business Intelligence Intern

Job Summary:

The Business Intelligence (BI) Intern will support the BI team by managing ServiceNow tickets related to data and reporting issues, as well as assisting with data collection, analysis, and reporting. This position provides a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in both BI and IT service management. The intern will also contribute to improving the efficiency of BI processes and supporting the resolution of data-related issues logged through ServiceNow.

Key Responsibilities:

ServiceNow Ticket Management:

Assist in managing, triaging, and resolving ServiceNow tickets related to BI issues, such as reporting errors, data discrepancies, and access requests Collaborate with end users and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of BI-related tickets. Track and prioritize tickets, ensuring that issues are addressed within the required SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

Data Collection & Reporting:

Support the BI team in collecting, validating, and analyzing data from multiple sources to support business reporting needs.

Issue Identification & Resolution:

Work closely with the BI and IT teams to identify root causes of data issues, suggest improvements, and provide feedback for future enhancements. Assist in data validation and troubleshooting to ensure the accuracy and quality of reported data. Communicate with stakeholders (e.g., business analysts, IT teams, and other departments) to understand BI requirements, address queries, and provide updates on ticket progress. Maintain clear and detailed documentation for all ServiceNow ticket resolutions, ensuring that processes are well-documented for future reference.

Process Review/Improvements

Assist in mapping current RLS lines to proposed AD groups Contribute to the creation of user guides and knowledge base articles to address common BI-related issues.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and basic knowledge of SQL for data queries. Basic understanding of ServiceNow or other ticket management systems. Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools. Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational abilities, especially in managing multiple ServiceNow tickets and reporting tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with ServiceNow, particularly with incident or request management related to data and BI issues. Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices.
