Introduction

Within our Business Information Team, we do a lot of ETL. We receive data in different kinds of formats, we extract this into the cloud, we transform the data into understandable information and we load this information in our reports and tools. We do this by using different tools and program languages. For example we use Power BI, Spotfire, Azure Databricks, SQL and the Azure Cloud.

Your assignment

As a data engineer/scientist you will have the freedom to identify areas for improvement and work on projects that align with your interests. Whether it is optimizing data pipelines, automating data processes or optimizing our databases, you will have the opportunity to make a difference.

Your tasks may include but not limited to:

Work with large datasets to derive meaningful insights;

Optimize data landscape;

Create efficient tools;

Database management.

Creating data models;

Identify inefficiencies and propose (and execute) data-driven solutions;

Literature review on data optimization/processes;

Qualitative or quantitative research;

This is an internship for 3-5 days a week with a duration of 5-7 months. The start date is 01-09-2025 or earlier.

Your Profile

To be a perfect match for this internship, you:

Are at your bachelor's or master's in Data Science, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Technology, Industrial Engineering or any other related study backgrounds;

Are skilled in tooling/programming like SQL, Power BI, Mendix or Python;

Have experience with data;

Have strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset;

Have a hands-on approach and are self-driven;

Possess good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Other requirements you need to meet:

You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.

If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
