Summary:

This position is responsible for leading, assisting and growing the Business Intelligence (BI) team in all aspects of the business intelligence development lifecycle to ensure daily activities and projects are completed successfully, on time and within budget. Responsible for overall quality, compliance and stability of Memorial Healthcare System's (MHS) business intelligence platform and infrastructure. Responsible for standards, policies and procedures regarding data management and business intelligence.

Responsibilities:

Manages the BI analytics team to ensure information requests are fulfilled accurately and promptly. Coaches, motivates, and trains staff to perform at their highest level. Oversees, maintains, and prioritizes projects. Supports various customers and departments with specialized projects and strategic initiatives.Responsible for researching, gathering, maintaining, and developing market data to provide valuable insights and benchmarks from various sources (e.g., AHCA, IMS, FHURS, Claritas, SG2, Press Ganey, CMS). Ensures timely and accurate compilation of data into specialized data marts. Keeps abreast of new metrics and integrates them into data marts. Educates customers on dimensions and measures to support financial, quality, and clinical analytics.Assists with all aspects of the Business Intelligence development lifecycle, including data integration, extraction, and reporting using analytical tools. Supports end users and organizational leadership by providing meaningful data, analytics, and insights to aid decision-making and improve business operations. Maintains regular communication with Epic representatives and team members to track workflow updates and changes.Gathers and refines requirements, develops technical specifications, and translates business needs into actionable data queries. Assesses data sources and ensures data accuracy and confidence. Develops and maintains documentation for all data sources and dashboards. Provides production support for new and existing reporting and BI applications, troubleshoots complex issues, and handles escalations. Stays informed of Epic updates and advises the team on changes.Oversees customer relationships with end users and leaders across the healthcare system, ensuring their projects and issues are addressed effectively. Manages customer expectations to ensure satisfaction with the accuracy and timeliness of requested information. Communicates with BI customers to assess their information and reporting needs and follows up to ensure deadlines are met and any relevant issues are communicated.Manages the migration of BI data marts to Caboodle, collaborating with Caboodle database architects and administrators. Prepares and validates data loads to Caboodle, maintaining all ETL processes, stored procedures, and functions. Delivers high-quality data and BI solutions that provide user functionality with minimal maintenance and low production incident volume. Ensures compliance with governance standards and rules.

Complexity of Work: In order to provide MHS leaders with a platform to support data driven decision making, the Manager of the Business Intelligence team is involved in nearly every project or initiative requiring data and analytics. This requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, effective communication, and a deep understanding of the clinical and financial aspects of the organization.The Manager of the Business Intelligence team works in a highly complex data rich environment, and is required to have an understanding of Finance, HR/Payroll, Supply Chain, Clinical Operations, Revenue Cycle, Claims Processing, and many other organizational workflows. The Manager must be able to take complex business requirements and turn those requirements into functional specification, KPIs and other meaningful data and analytics. Required Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including three (3) years of experience supervising/managing a team. Other Information: Additional Education Info: Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science and Business Analytics, or related field. Relevant work experience may substitute for education requirement.
