Job SummaryThe Business Management Systems Lead will drive strategic oversight and governance of the organization's Business Management System across four sites, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and CMMI certifications. This leadership role focuses on aligning quality management with corporate policy, implementing Standard Enterprise Practices (SEPs), and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and extensive experience with quality management systems and certifications.
Job Responsibilities Strategic Oversight & Governance: Provide strategic guidance for the Business Management System (BMS), aligning it with corporate objectives and ensuring effective implementation across sites. Certification Leadership: Oversee AS9100, ISO 9001, and CMMI certification efforts across four sites, maintaining compliance and driving continuous improvements. Standard Enterprise Practices: Oversee and govern the SEP library, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and business needs while maintaining consistency across all sites. Ensure the efficient and effective management of SEPs, focusing on eliminating waste within the library to support streamlined operations and continuous improvement. Operational Excellence Integration: Lead operational excellence within the Quality organization, aligning it with strategy, innovation, process optimization, common measurements, and talent development. Quality Management Support: Work closely with site quality teams to support execution, share best practices, and ensure alignment with strategic quality goals. Continuous Improvement Leadership: Champion Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, and other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operations, drive problem-solving efforts, and achieve measurable results. Performance Tracking: Utilize dashboards and KPIs to monitor BMS performance, cost savings, and project outcomes, communicating insights to stakeholders and senior leaders. Cross-functional Collaboration: Engage with other departments to provide guidance, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure the integration of operational excellence principles. Training & Mentorship: Develop training programs that support BMS initiatives and the growth of future “Excellence” leaders, including certifications for internal auditors. Communication & Reporting: Ensure clear and consistent communication with team members, senior leaders, and stakeholders, providing updates on BMS status, objectives, risks, and mitigation plans. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements, maintaining a strong compliance framework. Budget Management: Oversee budget, cost, schedule, and rate of return for BMS-related activities, ensuring efficient resource allocation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of five years experience focused in Lean Practice and Problem Solving or Operational ExcellencePreferred Qualifications:
Certification Experience: Demonstrated experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, and CMMI certifications, with a focus on strategic governance and compliance. Lead Auditor Experience/Certification: Certified Lead Auditor or equivalent experience in conducting internal and external audits for AS9100, ISO 9001, or CMMI. Operational Excellence Expertise: Minimum of five years of experience in Lean practices, problem-solving, or operational excellence, preferably with ASQ Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification. Quality Management Systems (QMS): Proficiency in quality management systems, with strategic planning and implementation experience. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies. Leadership & Communication: Excellent interpersonal, team management, and communication skills, both written and oral. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
