As a private partnership, we believe our ownership structure fosters a long-term view that aligns our perspectives with those of our clients. **About the Role** The Business Manager for Private Investments and Hedge Funds will be part of the COO Group, reporting into the COO for the Client Platform. The COO team plays a critical role in the execution of the Client Platform strategy, providing leverage for leaders across the platform in the running of their business lines, driving scale and efficiency across the platform and partnering with infrastructure leaders to ensure critical operations run smoothly. This role will be aligned to our Private Investments Capital Formation and Hedge Funds Investor Relations teams, the client facing arm of these businesses. Both areas are key strategic priorities for the firm and in rapid growth mode. Our Private Investments business has $8.5bn in AUM across early to late-stage PE and Investment Grade PP and our Hedge Fund products have a combined AUM of $30bn, spanning multi-strategy, diversifying and equity long/short strategies. The role will primarily focus on Private Investments as we look to get that business to scale and work closely with the Head of Private Investments Capital Formation, as well as the Head of Hedge Fund Investor Relations for certain responsibilities. Specific responsibilities include: + Partner with the Head of the Private Investments Capital Formation and Head of Hedge Fund Investor Relations to articulate and drive the execution of the growth strategy ensuing channel/regional roadmaps are documented; coverage is appropriately assigned and agreed across sales teams; and progress is tracked and communicated + Partner with key infrastructure stakeholders such as operations, technology, legal and compliance to ensure the business needs are represented and to provide valuable guidance and input to drive a smooth operational and client experience + Lead cross-platform initiatives that are critical to evolving the business, working with key SMEs. For example, competitor analysis, vehicle needs and marketing campaigns + Provide targeted support to ensure the effective leadership of the business including strategy presentations, team communications, offsite planning and data room population + Work with the Business Operations and Strategic Delivery function (withing the COO group) to oversee parts of the day to day running of the business such as budgets, headcount management, investor swings, strategic client relationships and training and development + Work with Client and Product Strategy and Finance to ensure clean capture and communication of business targets, results, flows, pipeline, profitability and KPIs **QUALIFICATIONS** Specific qualifications include: + Meaningful experience in the asset management industry and direct knowledge of alternatives. Understanding of the infrastructure and technology systems required to support these businesses would be ideal, but not required + Experience of management reporting and supporting tools (e.g. excel and tableau) as well as the ability to analyze and present data related to the running of an alternatives business + Ability to translate business into end-to-end processes with focus on integrating technology solutions would be a significant advantage + Ability to independently drive projects (often juggling multiple at one time) in a highly matrixed and collaborative team environment, exercising sound judgment and knowing when to escalate at appropriate inflection points + Global mindset and willingness to work flexible hours on occasions to ensure the appropriate connectivity across colleagues in different regions + Ability to partner effectively with others, seek the right audience, build consensus, influence, develop recommendations and act decisively + Flexibility and grace under pressure; ability to adapt and able to provide a balanced perspective + Entrepreneurial mindset – enjoy building and having an impact, “rolling up sleeves” and getting things done attitude + A forward-thinker, someone who is willing to explore new ways of working + Fluency in Power point, Salesforce and/or other alternatives CRM tools helpful but not required Not sure you meet 100% of our qualifications? The base salary range for this position is: USD 100,000 - 225,000 This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education.
