We are seeking a full time Business Office Assistant to join our team. Experience inside of a healthcare facility is a PLUS!
The Business Office Assistant supports the Business Office Coordinator and the daily operations of the business office by establishing and maintaining resident accounts, billing and collection of private pay accounts, and processing daily transactions such as petty cash and accounts receivable. This individual also processes physician and pharmacy billing, assesses the status of Medicaid applications, answers phones and prepares and maintains departmental correspondence and reports.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a healthcare business office related setting, with working knowledge of third party payers, census, private pay collections, and the Medicaid application process.
ResponsibilitiesBusiness office Assistant:
Enters new admits – 1 day a week and does MCR/INS log 1 day a weekAttends am reportUpdates admission record with any contact changesPrepares cut lettersAttends weekly rehab meetingManages RFMS , reviews resident banking statements , reconciles RFMSEnters ancillary charges for month endCompletes Insurance Verification forms for Part BFiling , scanningRuns reoccurring transaction report before room and board statements and before end of month and applies tax receipt assessment on any accounts that have been missedFacility bankingReplenishes resident cash box and petty cash boxMeets with residents/ families for short term admission paperworkCounts cash boxes weekly with Business office CoordinatorOpens and sorts Business office MailSupports the Business office Coordinator with special projects and overflowScans room and board checks and resident trust checks Qualifications
Business office Assistant:
Minimum of one year previous Accounts Receivable experience required.Working knowledge of Medicare A and B, Medicaid and third party insurance required.High school diploma with business training, including typing and book keeping. Proficient in Excel is a plus.Experience in a Long Term Care setting highly preferred.This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
