The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Business Operations Manager to join our growing Technical Services team in Denver, CO.

McKinstry has a unique perspective on the life of a building, and our  Technical Services  suite of owner-direct offerings assists clients in making the best decisions to improve the efficiency, comfort, sustainability, and lifespan of their building. 

In this role, at a regional level, you will develop and direct all aspects of project financial administration and planning efforts by leading a high performing business operations and project management team. You will drive cross-functional efficiency to meet client and business unit’s needs and expectations. Additional responsibilities include:

Financial Management and Analysis Analyze, evaluate, and maintain an understanding of the Business Unit’s business processes to ensure efficiency with respect to financial predictability, stability, and profitability. Inform monthly and quarterly Regional Business Unit’s financial data analysis and financial reporting. Provide monthly variance and outlook analysis at the project level for the Work In Progress (WIP). Process ad-hoc financial analysis and WIP follow-up requests.   Partner with Regional Business Unit Leadership to support delivery of Regional Business Unit’s reports. Implement and inform best practices for team financials including Earned Value Management (EVM), software, tools and processes. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on assigned areas of responsibility that may include business processes, methods and procedures, interdepartmental operations, technology, project management, billing, and contract management. Resolve interdepartmental project financial processes efficiently; work proactively to reduce underlying issues and to create improvements. Identify and implement business operations strategies, policies, and processes to optimize efficiency and results enabling the business to scale. Lead as a steward of McKinstry culture and all company policies and procedures.  Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, project management or equivalent professional experience required. Five (5) to eight (8) years in a supervisory role in a support-oriented environment required. Three (3) to five (5) years in a project management role preferred. Five (5) to eight (8) years in managing back-end processes to include technology management, client billing, contract management, and reporting and analysis preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in financial reporting and analysis, data mining and data analysis, and data modeling techniques preferred. Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint required. Knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative data collection, metrics & analysis required. Intermediate working knowledge of CRM and/or ERP system(s) – Salesforce, Viewpoint, and Planisware preferred. Experience and knowledge in: 
• Operational finance, budgeting, and oversight (required). 
• Management and coaching techniques (required). 
• Process/Workflow Management (required). 
• Project Management (required). 
• Experience in managing remote and/or multi-site teams (required).

The pay range for this position is $102,780 - $162,830 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
