Key Position Details:

The surgical services department - ambulatory surgical services program is growing! We are hiring this new role to help extend and advance the leadership team.

Job Description:

Responsible for the supervision and coordination of administrative and general office activities for surgical support services. Provides direct supervision for surgical services support staff which may include; billing specialists, and surgery schedulers. Ensures successful delivery of support services within the surgical services department.

Principle Responsibilities

Supervision of employees.Manage staff performance through feedback, recognition and accountability.Hire and onboard new staff as needed.Train, orient and maintain competencies for employees.Maintain scheduling, time off approval, and time card sign-off.Maintain optimal staffing.Oversee surgical scheduling and billing operations.Supervise surgery scheduling staff and ensure surgical services processes are functioning efficiently.Manage block schedules and room availability to ensure maximum capacity and staffing efficiency.Work with surgeons to ensure requests are accommodated and requirements are enforced.Ensure accurate and timely documentation/ posting in areas that impact patient billing.Project and financial management.Support surgical services process improvement initiatives.Display advanced knowledge and ability to apply various performance improvement methodologies.Serve as the department's point of contact for performance improvement initiatives.Collaborate with the finance department to monitor cost center financial performance relative to budget.Identify and communicate risks, variances and opportunities.Lead surgical advanced analytics.Oversee all department metrics and data analytics.Support the enhancement of analytical skills for surgical leadership team.Ensure data integrity and statistical significance for data driven decisions.Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or related field3+ years experience related to procedural scheduling, and billing


Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in health administration, business administration or related field3+ years experience specific to surgical services operations, surgical procedures and patterns, surgical billing, and data analytics2+ years supervisory experience
