Business Operations Specialist

As a business operations specialist you will be deeply embedded within the organization and operate with others under a center of excellence model to support the overall organization. As a business operations specialist, you will work with business unit or department leaders to establish goals and objectives for improving operational efficiency.


Your job duties may include reviewing business operational procedures, creating hypotheses, and combining data analysis and front-line employees interviews to both validate and create business improvement recommendations. The ideal candidate can forecast the financial impacts of their recommendations, track the progress of their objectives effectively, and is an expert at navigating an organization cross functionally. The right candidate will drive business insights, bring a quantitative, data-driven mindset, and have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.  

What you will own:

Provide expertise and analysis to assist business units / departments to become more effective and efficient.

Specialize in spotting weaknesses and identifying opportunities for improvement

Gather and analyze data, formulate and test hypotheses, synthesize findings, develop go-forward plans and help drive and translate recommendations into results

Will have a seat at the strategic table

Maintenance of key tools and functionsWork closely with product teams to drive needed technology enhancements

Recommend new tools and processes, develop business case and implement effectively

Identify bottlenecks/inefficiencies in current processes, break down the impact of the bottleneck(s), prioritize bottlenecks/inefficiencies by impact and recommend improvements

Coordinate cross functional initiatives to achieve optimal work production throughout the organization

Develop improved operational cadence in the area you are responsible for

Seek for ways to reduce costs where appropriate

Perform project post mortems and drive go forward enhancements

What you'll need to be successful:

 Bachelor’s Degree in operations, supply chain management, engineering or other

2-4 years of prior operations, sales or marketing operations, logistics, supply chain experience or consulting experience is strongly preferred

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Experience with helping to scale a fast-growing company

Outstanding business acumen

Excellent Excel and Visio / Lucid charting skills

Ability to identify necessary analysis and provide recommendations to internal business partners

Excellent presentation and communication skills to work with executives to first understand their business, then to identify, assess and provide recommendations

Very strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to influence people and get results
