The Applications team at EPRI is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Business Operations Intern to support daily operational activities for our growing area of work in Applications projects. This role is crucial in aiding the strategic and tactical aspects of our team, ensuring smooth operational functionality.
The Applications team leads our efforts to apply leading-edge technologies and subject matter expertise to member-specific challenges in grid planning and operations, distributed energy resources, and climate analysis. The team develops actionable insights regarding the impact and capabilities of new technologies through utility-driven demonstrations and cross-cutting projects. Our work features collaboration with experts across EPRI to produce deliverables that are focused on individual member needs, executed within a shorter time frame, and aimed at answering nearer-term research questions than previously associated with R&D.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Applications team with daily operational tasks.
Support the workflow of new project setup
Aid in the implementation of process improvements for the sector.
Engage in strategic planning activities alongside the Applications Operations Coordinator and Applications Manager.
Build and monitor reports in SAP and Monday.com.
Provide project management support as needed.
Maintain and develop the SharePoint website.
Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.
Support portfolio management and development for Applications projects.
Collaborate with various organizational teams.
Education:
Must be enrolled in an accredited university pursing degree.
Currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, ideally with a concentration in Operations Management.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
Basic understanding of business operations and process improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with SAP and portfolio management.
Experience with SharePoint design and maintenance.
Experience working with Monday.com
Additional Information:
Looking for a student who will have the ability to work in the EPRI Dallas Office.
This position is intended to be a multi-semester internship while the successful candidate can work full time during the summer and part time during the school year.
The hourly rate range for Student positions are:
Undergraduate: $16-29 per hourMasters: $25-31 per hourPh.D: $27-34 per hourThese ranges are an estimate, and the actual hourly rate may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The hourly rate may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
As an EPRI Student, you will not participate in EPRI’s Benefit Programs which includes health insurance, retirement benefits, vacation, sick leave (except as set required by law) and holiday pay. However, as a Student employee you are eligible for the benefits of Social Security, State Disability Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation Insurance.
For Student positions which require one to relocate to an EPRI office. Relocation assistance is not provided and the student will be responsible for covering all relocation costs/expenses.
