Business Process Analyst
Position Number: 009068 Department: Office of OneIT (Adm) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Responsible for following the OneIT Planning and Project Management Office ( PPMO ) business analysis methodologies within defined best practices. + Engage during the Call for Projects to complete initial project reviews, help to develop project charters, and lead efforts to gather requirements. + Collaborate with the Office of Human Resources to understand and document the processes that support business operations. + Conduct detailed analysis of current state processes and identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. + Gather and document requirements from stakeholders. + Provide project analysis documentation such as business requirements, process maps, scope matrix, use stories, and future state proposals. + Analyze and synthesize business requirements, including recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes and translate findings into actionable recommendations for the organization. + Assess business processes and system inefficiencies to identify ways to increase adoption and customer satisfaction. + Expertise in Human Resources operations, preferably within a Higher Education setting, is essential. + Act as a liaison between OneIT and Divisions across the University to refine processes and solutions to meet business needs. + Work closely with business SMEs to ascertain information and process/system details supporting research and evaluation. + Engage and positively influence stakeholders in requirements-gathering sessions and solution review meetings. + Effectively communicate with end users, executive sponsors, and IT resources. + Lead or participate in business and technical analysis and needs assessments to align information technology solutions with current University initiatives. + Engage with the PPMO to develop and advance standard tools, templates, and other resources. + Regularly maintain portfolio and project updates and dashboards within the PPMO’s software tool. Minimum Experience / Education: + Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or another closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution; + Minimum 3-5 years experience as a Business Analyst; or + An equivalent combination of education and experience. + Experience doing business analysis for IT projects and Human Resources projects. + Experience managing cross-organizational matrixed project teams. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: + Certifications in project management, business analysis, process reengineering, and Agile methodology. + Experience leading projects utilizing Agile methodologies. + Experience leading technology projects and doing business analysis in a Higher Education setting. + Demonstrated experience in information technology project management, as well as business analysis, requirements gathering, and/or process improvement. + Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. + Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. + Experience as an IT project manager in a higher education setting.
