Your Role 

 

Business Process Expert Translation Services   

The holder of this position is accountable for strategic process development across all Processes of MBS Translation Services by focusing on simplification, harmonization and standardization, documentation, and performance measurement of these processes in line with MBS and Merck strategy and standards. In addition, this position will support the further implementation of Translation Services into the MBS Service Setup and Scope to be aligned with the KPI, SLA, Technology and Data standards. By performing on these responsibilities, we aim to further develop the Translation Services at Merck, broaden the scope to scale the service to further internal clients and to use synergies within the MBS organization and infrastructure. 

 

The position is concentrating on designing, owning, and developing the tools, processes, and data in the relevant areas owned by the GPO of Enterprise Services, in alignment with relevant stakeholders: 

Drives process transformation, standardization/ modularization and automation toward the strategic target picture for an E2E process, holistically and beyond scope of MBS.  Acts as business application owner for relevant technology in his/her area – selection, decision, implementation, and decommissioning of technology with support/cooperation of respective stakeholders. Is responsible for application financials together with relevant partners. Owner and point of contact for all contractual activities (Mango, IT, Legal, Finance)  Identifies and coordinates relevant structural improvements, determines, and outlines business process improvements ensuring process improvement, efficiency, and quality increase.  Owns deployment of global standards that are valid across all building blocks of the process (different functions of MBS, enabling functions, business, if applicable.)  Standardizes E2E process according to BPM toolkit, is responsible to drive agreed process changes in his/her area and strives for maximum standardization and harmonization (incl. owning the relevant process documentation standards) across and beyond the entire service scope to increase efficiency of Service Delivery as a key impact.  Continuously seeks business opportunities for further development and enhancement of services and process scope of Global Communication Services offers and manages the respective idea portfolio and reduces process fragmentation.  Advises strategic and function critical projects, ensures and actively contributes to realization of important business projects (e.g., the service extension into EFs which aim to have their own Translation Services like HC and LS).  Ensures seamless collaboration across all relevant functions contributing to this process as well as being first contact point for vendors and external stakeholders.  Ensures up-to-date and continuous process documentation.  Act as strategic enabler & sparring partner for delivery teams in hubs, centers, and countries and drives process enhancements and innovation within operations.  This role partners with key executives across MBS, EFs and Sectors (e.g., PO, IT, HR, FI), as well as the operations (Hub, Center, CAO), MBS Strategy & Transformation, MBS Business Process Management to make impactful business outcome.  Creates and maintains a working culture that fosters continuous improvement and innovation (role model for future ways of working within MBS and HIC) in GPO and Delivery.
