Notes to Applicants The successful Business Process Specialist (Grants) will: Collaborate with technical experts to identify projects that may be eligible for grant funding. Monitor federal agency websites, Grants.gov and email communications to identify relevant funding programs and monitor the schedule for the release dates of upcoming grant applications. Identify federal grant programs that may match previously identified City project(s), researching grant programs and, if applicable, NOFOs from previous fiscal years to determine the strength of the match between the funding opportunity and the City project(s). Create deck to provide high level information about the funding opportunity and the matched City project(s). Present funding opportunity/project package to relevant stakeholders and Executives to gain authorization to apply to federal funding program. Write language for Request for Council Action (RCA) to request council’s approval to apply for funding opportunity. Create “grant application development” schedule to set deadlines and expectations with contributing stakeholders. Write narrative of grant application by collaborating with technical experts and relevant stakeholders. If an external consultant is creating the Benefit-Cost Analysis, set communication expectations with consultant by creating weekly reoccurring meetings until final deliverables are submitted. Create a list of entities who may provide a letter of support for the grant application. Complete the grant review, approval and submission process, monitoring for any communication regarding additional information needed. Post-award, use original RCA to create a new RCA that request Council’s approval to accept grant award. Identify relevant City stakeholders for post-award tasks. Contact federal granting agency to finalize grant award agreement.

1. Assists in planning, executing and closing projects in a variety of operational and/or administrative situations related to specific assignments/areas.2. Develops and maintains databases to support data analysis and research findings for business projects.3. Write reports that summarize findings, data collection techniques, implementation options, etc.5. Establishes project schedules using project planning software/tools, updates and maintains project status reports. Communicate project/process status.6. Conduct research, analyze trends, determine accuracy and relevancy of data/information, and use sounds judgment to evaluate alternatives.7. Facilitates and documents meetings, action items, and processes using flowcharting methodologies.8. Maintains positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation and support.
