About the team:

The Catalog Advisor team provides deployment and enablement services to customers deploying SAP Ariba procurement solutions. They are focused on providing a delightful customer experience – working through all phases of project initiation, strategy definition, requirement confirmation, configuration and build, testing, and the enablement of pilot supplier content for go-live. At the time of go-live, there is sound understanding the solution deployed and a clear plan for ongoing catalog enablement and adoption into business as usual. The Catalog Advisor team also supports customers after initial go-live to provide certain services that support further adoption and leverage new innovations.

 

About the role:

You would be actively managing customer facing catalog projects across the Asia Pacific Japan and Greater China (APJ & GCN) region working directly with customers to enable content and catalogs via the SAP Business Network – including outreach, training, and enablement. This role is a great opportunity to develop a solid foundation and understanding of global B2B digital catalog and content best practices and technologies.

The Catalog Advisor is responsible for deployment activities for SAP Ariba’s catalog modules within the larger SAP Ariba procurement applications. The role includes the responsibility for the successful execution of the Catalog enablement projects in time and at cost, education of the Buyers on SAP Business Network functionality related to Catalog Enablement and creation of specific project related education package for Sellers. The Catalog Advisor will demonstrate the ability to support multiple projects, offer solutions and escalate issues and manage the deployment of Catalog deliverables according to the project plan.

 

Working within the typical scope of responsibilities of a Catalog Advisor, you will be accountable for one or more customer projects for a range of customers. The evolution of the Catalog Advisor role has seen a focus that is centred on a successful customer deployment success and solution adoption. You will leverage procurement acumen and buy process knowledge in the role of trusted advisor to internal teams and customers.

 

In this role, you will:

Expert Knowledge

Work with customers to provide support and best practice during the deployment of the solution. Deliver high-quality, on-time implementation services on Catalog Deployment Projects to the buyer. Configure and assist with Catalog system settings to meet the Buyer’s requirements.

Project Management

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, reporting progress and effectively communicating status. Tracks the progress of the Catalog Deployment deliverables. Proactively escalates issues to the various stakeholders in the deployment team. Delegate issues deemed out of scope to appropriate teams/individual.

Catalog Creation and Management

Work across multiple projects to support the effective delivery of catalog projects.

Training Content Creation and Delivery

Support creation of, and delivery of training materials for suppliers and customers.

Troubleshooting and Solution Testing

For responsible projects, be point of contact for issue solution and support testing processes. Provides issue resolution related to Catalog Deployment via the SAP Business Network for customers and their suppliers.

Stakeholder Management and Presentations

As required, support the creation and delivery of presentations to internal and external stakeholders for various initiatives.

Travel to the customer’s location, approximately 0-5%

Education and Qualifications

University degree (Business and/or Information Technology). Experience on a Catalog Content related position would be an advantage (e.g. Category Manager, e-Business consultant, E-commerce specialist, e-Business Project Manager). Fluent in English Fluent in additional languages is advantageous; Chinese/Japanese/Korean/other

 

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills & strong customer focus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, conceptual thinker, Self-Motivated individual. Strong organizational skills. Technical understanding and capabilities to quickly learn and understand different tools and applications. Understanding of Business-to-Business Catalog strategy. Knowledge of procurement business processes, from requisitioning to payment. Knowledge of the following is an advantage: cXML, SQL, web design. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This role includes transferable skills such as; customer support, training, project management, and consulting.
