We are looking for a dynamic reporter to join our Asia Global Business team in Tokyo. Japan is home to some of the world's most influential and innovative companies, and they're navigating seismic shifts, from corporate governance shakeups to competition from emergent Chinese brands.
The successful candidate will be part of a team of reporters and editors who cover the country's biggest companies, from Toyota to Daikin, Eisai to Seven & I, in the context of these over-arching changes. We're looking for a reporter who can engage with these themes confidently, breaking news on the biggest corporate developments and delivering insightful analyses for a global readership reacquainting themselves with Japan Inc.
We're particularly interested in a candidate who can work quickly and accurately, has a deep network in Japan's business world, and can work collaboratively with colleagues in our Japanese-language news service in Tokyo and our English-language newsroom globally.
Multimedia skills are desired. Bloomberg reporters are expected to appear on TV and radio and increasingly, podcasts and videos find their way into the fabric of our storytelling.

You'll need to have:At least 5 years of experience in Business JournalismExperience working in a real-time news environmentAbility to contextualize corporate developments within broader economic and financial changes in JapanComfortable with both written and spoken EnglishFlexibility, a love of fast-paced working environments, and a resilience to changeDemonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
