Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. **_Accountabilities_** + Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. + Develop and maintain scripts and tools to support risk management activities, using Bash, Python, and SQL. Collaborate with other team members to ensure effective and efficient workflows. + Participate in the design and implementation of scalable solutions that meet the needs of the global risk management function, leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) where appropriate. + Perform testing and debugging of software components to ensure high quality, stable and reliable applications are delivered. + Collaborate with business users to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications for software development. + Continuously identify opportunities to improve existing systems and processes, and proactively propose and implement changes that increase efficiency and effectiveness. + Develop and maintain automated testing scripts and tools to validate software functionality, performance, and security. + Collaborate with other technology teams within the organization to identify and implement innovative solutions to address risk management needs. + Analyze system logs and monitoring data to identify and troubleshoot technical issues and performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to mitigate them. + Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. + Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. + Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. **_Reporting Relationships_** **_Primary Manager:_** **_(include secondary Manager if applicable)_** + _Business Solutions Lead_ **_Direct Reports:_** N/A **_Shared Reports (solid/dotted if applicable):_** N/A **_Dimensions_** + Knowledgein software engineering or related field, with a focus on development and maintenance of systems using Bash, Python, SQL, GCP, Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins. + Proficient in Bash scripting and experienced in using Python for software development. + Experienced in designing and maintaining databases using SQL. + Experienced in developing software solutions in GCP, and familiar with various GCP services, such as Compute Engine, Spanner, Virtual Machines, and Cloud Functions. + Experienced in using Git and Bitbucket for version control and code collaboration, including creating pull requests, resolving merge conflicts, and managing branches. + Experienced in setting up and maintaining Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). + Familiar with software development best practices, including agile methodologies, test-driven development, and code review. + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment. + Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. **_Education / Experience / Other Information_** • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field is required. • In addition to the above, the ideal candidate should have a strong interest in keeping up with the latest trends and developments in software engineering and risk management and be willing to continuously learn and develop their skills.
