Lead the Future of Enterprise TechnologyAs the Business Solutions Director, you will be responsible for the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of all enterprise application systems (excluding in-store systems) across Home Hardware Stores Limited. This includes overseeing platforms that support critical business functions such as Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, and HR. You will work cross-functionally to ensure these systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution – driving digital transformation, enabling innovation, and delivering enterprise solutions that support long-term growth and operational excellence.Led by the Vice President, Information Technology, you will serve as a key member of the IT leadership team, shaping enterprise technology direction, aligning solutions with business priorities, and fostering strong partnerships across departments. Here’s how: Oversee all technology supporting enterprise-wide business functions across the organization.Provide direction and support to business and technical teams, fostering strong leadership, open communication, and ongoing development.Lead the acquisition and development of solutions for complex business challenges, promoting innovation and consistent application of best practices.Direct the development and execution of tactical plans to support enterprise applications, including solution selection, implementations, upgrades, change control, training, and end-user support.Collaborate with senior leaders, business partners, and internal stakeholders to shape and deliver the enterprise technology, knowledge, and information management strategy.Oversee IT audit and controls, resource management, training, benchmarking, quality assurance, and the project management framework.Develop, manage, and track budgets related to technology investments, staffing, and daily IT operations.Identify emerging technology trends and ensure the company is leveraging them to increase efficiencies and drive value.We’re looking for: Bachelors in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.At least 10 years of progressive experience in IT, including 3 to 5 years in a senior leadership role, with a proven track record of implementing enterprise IT strategies and managing large-scale cloud or on-premise systems.Deep expertise in enterprise architecture, systems design, software development, and application integration.Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.Experience leading high-performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.Demonstrated strength in planning, prioritization, and execution across multiple large-scale projects.Solid business acumen, with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and optimizing resource allocation.The ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.A calm, confident presence in complex or high-pressure situations.Flexibility and adaptability to evolve with changing business needs.Experience in the Retail or Consumer Packaged Goods industry is preferred, particularly in collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, and Supply Chain. Ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
