The Role
Key responsibilities
Lead and shape the Manila Business Solutions Team. The team is consisting of business analysts, CMS/Configuration analysts and data scientist. Partner with global functional leaders in implementing and cascading best practices and quality working standards to achieve the highest product quality. Balance the annual goals and objectives against the changing needs of the company's products/services Oversee the overall quality of the functional delivery. Manages career development plan of the team to ensure Manila team’s proficiency and competency scale up. Co-manage Manila Digital Solutions team with the AU leaders to ensure the team is integrated with all the Manila initiatives. Manage the team’s financials and ensures expenditures are within the budget.Key accountabilities
Tailor and implement best practices and working standards to achieve the highest product quality, while continuously improving performance and the productivity of the business solutions team. Prioritize and manage resource allocation in conjunction with function leads based on changing business priorities and budget constraints. Manage career development plan of the team to ensure Manila team’s proficiency and competency scale up. Partner with global functional leaders in aligning career framework/roadmap of the team. Ensure clear roles and responsibilities are cascaded to the team (for Business Analysis, Digital Transformation, Configuration Analysis, Data Science). Drive initiatives for retention and upskilling. Drive continuous learning on business/functional/technical knowledge (i.e., UK Pensions,Benefit Connect). Maintain a highly engaged, high-performing team. Ensure the team has a sufficient knowledge and capability on all aspects of the work that is required. Ensure colleagues are mentored to develop desired skills and competencies, in line with business needs. Lead the team to accept and successfully adapt to changes that may be needed, as part of operational strategies to achieve practice/team goals. Promote a positive team culture, aligned with and in support of, Outsourcing NNA’s practices and work environment. Manage the Manila Business Solution Team’s budget under a cost management model.A deeper understanding of Outsourcing GB’s business is essential to be developed by the candidate, in order to seamlessly work with UK members of staff and teams, as well as to provide local guidance to his/her team.
The role is located in Manila, reporting to the Manila Head of Outsourcing NNA Philippines and matrix reporting to the Outsourcing GB Global head of Business Solutions.
An EMEA work shift schedule will be followed.
The Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
The candidate must have a proven management background and product/requirements management capability, with a track record in the leadership of business solution teams, and delivery of projects within a software delivery environment. Equally important is the ability to manage teams across multiple locations and a demonstrable grasp of offshore development processes including knowledge management and transfer.
Extensive experience in the software industry, including product management experience with consumer web applications, or enterprise software solutionsDemonstrated experience inspiring, mentoring and managing multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentSelf-starter attitude and ability to work well within ambiguityPassion for product management and software development life-cycle excellence through driving efficiencies, effective practices and continuous improvement is preferred. Proven experience in ensuring teams uphold the highest standards for delivering high quality product vision and requirementsSolid understanding of Outsourcing GB Business applications/technology offerings preferableProven ability in developing and nurturing key relationships with critical stakeholders and partners to facilitate effective communication, manage expectations, and deliver results. Excellent verbal and writing skills, including the ability to effectively communicate to non-technical team members and leaders and the ability to proactively provide status on team successes, challenges and continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent organizational skills, multitasking ability and proven analytical, methodical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skillsExperience working for a national or global commercial software product company requiring software product usage and high availability in a 24/7/365 modelMust have a strong talent mindset: maintaining, recruiting, selecting, training, and coaching. Possesses emotional intelligence including self-awareness, empathy and proven ability to inspire and motivate colleaguesExperience with user research techniques and data analysis techniques is strongly preferred.Hands on software development experience of some kind is preferred but not necessary.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams with project management, stakeholders, design, engineering, and QA.Experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio, MS Project, Adobe Creative Suite applications or similar.Experience working in a heavily regulated environment.Personal Qualities / Aptitudes:
