Responsibilities Overview Business System Analysts are experts in both our business processes and the technology that supports our business. Their goal is to improve the quality of IT services provided to the business through the design and documentation of requirements, leverage of native system functionality, and simplification of overall processes and solutions. Business System Analysts are part of a team of technical architects, developers, designers, and other team members. As a Business Systems Analyst for a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company that grows through acquisitions and uses SaaS packages, your role will be to collaborate with stakeholders, understand their business requirements and identify areas where technology can be used to optimize business processes. You will be responsible for evaluating and recommending solutions, developing detailed specifications and project plans, testing and implementing systems, facilitating integration of acquired companies into existing IT systems, providing training and support to end-users, and ensuring that all systems are properly documented and maintained. Strong relationships, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills are essential to succeed in this role. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Routinely meet with business partners to collaborate/coordinate/prioritize tactical work to meet business needs and expectations. Provide IT support services aligned to support SLAs. Ensure that all systems are properly documented and maintained, including developing and updating user manuals, technical documentation, and operational procedures. Provide training and support to end-users, including developing training materials and conducting training sessions. Responsible for service delivery for level 3 support issues when escalated from IT Services Team. Drive root cause analysis and resolution for recurring issues. Provide IT services to support periodic system upgrades. Monitor and be primary support contact for relevant system-to-system integrations. Work with technical resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Develop depth of knowledge in business partners key processes and technology solutions. Work with business partners to identify technical debt and capability gaps. Be a credible and trusted advisor to business partner in the delivery of IT services. Create/maintain roadmap for IT enabled solutions. Participate in business process/department/functional group activities on a regular basis to understand business needs and challenges and facilitate improvements. Gather data to inform business decisions that identify opportunities for optimization and automation. Perform periodic software licensing review and facilitate license/subscription renewals. In a project setting, support the Project Managers and Business Managers to define project scope, schedule, resource, and budget requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to document project objectives and success criteria. Participate in technology selection and recommend solutions that align with the company's needs and requirements, while ensuring that the solutions are scalable, cost-effective, and user-friendly. Own the IT requirements development processes and outcomes, which includes the creation of any test scenarios and scripts in support of systems integration testing to ensure solution meets requirements. Develop detailed functional specifications, system designs, integration designs and project plans for the implementation of new technology solutions based upon business requirements. Work with engineering/development resources in building technical designs. Collaborate with IT teams and technical resources to ensure designs are aligned to IT standards. Create and maintain test scenarios, test scripts and test data, in collaboration with the business partners, for validating system design, configuration, integration and performance. Assist the business partners in creating and reviewing training materials to ensure alignment with business processes and system configuration. Takes initiative in learning new skills (technical & non-technical). Maintains expertise in subject matter. Work Schedule: This position is eligible to work a hybrid work from home/office schedule. Qualifications Required Experience and Capabilities Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience with 5+ years of experience as a IT/IS Business Systems Analyst. Business relationship management experiences in a function that interacts with customers to deliver a service or other deliverables. Demonstrated ability to work with business partners to gain agreement on work priorities, urgency and manage conflict. Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, bring structure and drive work to successful completion. Experienced in working with business teams in creating and maintaining technology roadmaps. Business Analyst experience in working medium to large sized projects producing assigned deliverables. Experience creating process maps, gathering business requirements, writing functional specifications, documenting data flow diagrams, creating test plans, and writing test scripts. Experience in functional design of system-to-system integrations. Demonstrated ability to learn news business areas and successfully deliver on ambiguous assignments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in common business language. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and team members. Demonstrated ability to manage small-to medium sized projects/enhancements and to coordinate work with small cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, and coach others. Be a positive influence on others. Preferred Experience and Capabilities 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in IT/IS role supporting Marketing business functions. Experience deploying/supporting Marketing technologies including tools supporting product experience management (Salsify, Syndigo, One World Sync), creative marketing project management, and graphic design. Experience deploying/supporting/upgrading SaaS packages and cloud-based systems. Experience participating in RFP evaluations for technology solutions. CPG industry experience is a plus. Proficiency with SQL. Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and integrating acquired companies into existing IT systems is a plus.
