Responsibilities

We are hiring a Business Systems Analyst within the Healthcare Data Intelligence Population Health Visualization team within the Ascension Data Science Institute (ADSI).  This role will create and deliver data visualization products with a focus of Population Health primarily utilizing Google BigQuery, SQL, and Tableau.


This position will support improvement activities with payers, providers, internal consultants and technical teams to support Ascension’s value based care contractual arrangements.

 

Serve as a key resource for an assigned customer area to understand and explain business and technical issues and to provide viable technology solutions.

Develops and prepares the required and/or requested reports, charts and graphs, analyzes claims and clinical loss data for trends and identifies opportunities for additional evaluation and focus.

Design and implement projects requiring systems integration, small teams and multiple technical platforms.

Assume a proactive role in driving improvement activities to achieve department and organizational goals to deliver value.

Coordinate with a functional team to assure consistency and optimization of overall work product.

Maintain current knowledge of industry and business process trends and is able to apply that knowledge to existing business processes.

Interface between functional analytics and data engineering teams

Identifies opportunities for process improvement and makes recommendations that lead to improvements

Monitors task assignments to ensure they are performed on schedule, within intended scope and to a defined level of quality. 

Coordinates with functional team to assure consistency and optimization of overall work product

Escalates process and project issues that cannot be resolved.

Work with customers to clarify and plan for their current and future technology needs.

Determine and map existing business processes/functions and recommend changes required to fit a tightly integrated system.

Design and implement projects requiring systems integration, small teams and multiple technical platforms.

Conduct Return on Investment (ROI) and other financial analysis to support project funding/prioritization.

Collaborate on driving improvement activities to achieve department and organizational goals.

Assume a proactive role in driving improvement activities to achieve department and organizational goals to deliver value.

Coordinate with functional team to assure consistency and optimization of overall work product.

Maintain current knowledge of industry and business process trends and is able to apply that knowledge to existing business processes.

The ideal candidate has:

Extensive SQL knowledge, and will complete a proficiency assessmentHealthcare experience
Requirements

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
