**CTG is seeking to fill a Business Systems Analyst V opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.**
**Location:** Buffalo, NY
**Duration:** 6 months
**Overview:**
The Business Systems Analyst V is responsible for facilitating complex projects from proposal through post-implementation. This role involves meeting with business units to identify requirements for application interfaces and functionality, ensuring the technology supports business needs. The analyst will lead the creation of test plans and specifications, ensuring projects meet established milestones and are delivered on time. After 18 months, the Business Systems Analyst V will be considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned systems.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Prepare well-documented functional specifications for assigned projects and create test plans, test cases, and execute tests.
+ Analyze complex data and ensure functional designs for projects are accurate.
+ Mentor less experienced staff by assisting with application training, research analysis, and consultation on project methodology.
+ Lead functional aspects of complex projects, facilitating team meetings and documenting/distributing meeting minutes.
+ Work with business clients to discuss application changes related to enterprise initiatives, compliance requirements, or system maintenance (BAU).
+ Participate in design discussions, deliver functional specifications, and ensure technology applications meet customer needs.
+ Coordinate project estimates, timelines, and phases for large projects, and provide estimates for assigned components.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert, providing advice on how applications may be impacted by enterprise-wide changes.
+ Collaborate with vendors and technical teams to gain a deep understanding of project functionality and implementation.
+ May act as Test Coordinator for large, multi-application projects.
+ Participate in data mapping for system integration and acquisition-related projects to assess potential impacts.
+ Collaborate with other testing teams to prepare test plans, scripts, and execute test cases to ensure changes work as expected.
+ Monitor project scope and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring all changes adhere to business and technology standards.
+ Resolve issues arising during testing or implementation, ensuring smooth project delivery.
+ Coordinate and manage post-implementation feedback, addressing issues, and completing debriefs on project timelines and financials.
+ Ensure adherence to risk and regulatory standards, escalating risk-related issues as needed.
+ Promote a diverse environment that aligns with the M&T Bank brand and maintains internal control standards.
+ Perform additional related duties as assigned.
**Scope of Responsibilities:**
The Business Systems Analyst V will serve as a lead on complex projects, working closely with business and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery. This role involves managing the functional aspects of applications, from planning through post-implementation.
**Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:**
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but will serve as a mentor to junior staff and coordinate project teams.
**Education and Experience Required:**
+ Minimum of 6 years combined higher education and/or operational/business analytics experience.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency with personal computers and relevant software applications.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills to aid in issue resolution.
**Education and Experience Preferred:**
+ Bachelor’s degree.
+ Subject matter expert in business with knowledge or experience utilizing the application/system being supported.
+ Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
+ Advanced understanding of supported applications and integrated systems.
+ Strong knowledge of project management, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
+ Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms.
+ Ability to understand business terminology and the operations it supports.
+ Strong presentation skills for management-level meetings.
+ Ability to multitask and coordinate between business units and applications.
+ Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and within a team.
+ Understanding of the Bank’s application framework and acquisition/conversion methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
