CTG is seeking to fill a Business Systems Analyst VII opening for our client in New York. Location: Remote Duration: 6 months Overview: The Business Systems Analyst VII will provide short- and long-term strategic direction for the units and applications in line with the department and client goals. This role will assist in managing client relations and expectations, as well as business relationships and technology solutions for assigned applications across the organization. The Business Systems Analyst VII will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on enterprise initiatives, complex discretionary projects, compliance/regulatory requirements, and system releases. They will guide less experienced personnel and mentor complex and sensitive project initiatives, helping to build team knowledge, develop functional specifications, assist with testing, research, and follow Combined Project Methodology. This role will work closely with business lines to define optimal functional approaches to achieve effective systemic solutions and improve the Bank's Technology Portfolio and Software Development. Primary Responsibilities: Consult with client management to analyze short- and long-term business requirements, recommending innovations that anticipate the impact of changing business needs. Develop and maintain positive client relationships, building rapport within the organization and with external vendors and professional organizations. Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system enhancements. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the business environment to evaluate the technical, business, and operational impacts of projects or problems. Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, helping develop their knowledge and expertise. Manage and oversee the execution of complex project plans for assigned applications. Present project status and progress reports to senior management as required. Serve as a client liaison to ensure smooth communication and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders on compliance/regulatory initiatives, system maintenance, and contractual changes. Act as SME on application functionality, testing, and review of business requirements, functional specifications, and testing efforts. Recommend and initiate new policies, processes, and technologies to enhance application performance and department effectiveness. Proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize negative impacts on assigned applications and users. Ensure adherence to the company's risk and regulatory standards, escalating risk-related issues as necessary. Promote diversity and support the M&T Bank brand. Complete other related duties as assigned. Scope of Responsibilities: Lead and manage complex application systems initiatives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Oversee project plans, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and resolution of issues. Assist in application testing, compliance review, and integration efforts across the organization. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: Guide and mentor less experienced team members. Assist in building team knowledge through training and knowledge sharing. Lead initiatives for complex projects and application changes. Education and Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in operational/business analytics, systems development, or related fields. Expertise with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow. Proven experience in large system enhancements, conversions, and production problem resolution. Complete understanding of the system development life cycle (SDLC). Strong application and product knowledge within the technology areas being led. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational, time management, problem-solving, and lateral thinking skills. Education and Experience Preferred: Bachelor's degree. Deep understanding of multiple business areas and functions. Capability to manage complex projects and initiatives. Advanced knowledge of application functionality, interfacing, and integrated applications. Proficient with project management software, word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of the Bank’s application framework. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate others and build team cohesion. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
