Business Unit Controller
Business Unit Controller, AscellaHealth What we are looking for AscellaHealth seeks a Controller to manage the daily financial activities, including financial accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, billing, treasury, and financial analysis of a subsidiary. They will manage a team and play a direct, individual-contributor role in the financial life of the organization. This position requires regular weekly attendance at our Berwyn, PA office. What the position will be doing + Maintain General Ledger (GL) per the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) + Perform the month and year-end close activities and related reporting + Manage the monthly GL account reconciliation process + Manage accounts payable (AP) + Manage customer billing and related accounts receivable (AR) activity + Prepare the annual budget and periodic forecasts. Compare actual results to budget/forecast as part of the monthly reporting process + Perform ongoing financial and profitability analysis + Serve as the key contact for external audit and tax consultants + Meet with new clients to ensure proper financial reporting is set correctly for accurate month-end reports + Oversee and support an accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity + Perform other related duties as assigned or necessary; remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities + A bachelor’s degree, or 4-year equivalent, with a major in business, accounting, or finance is required + Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or finance + Possess significant knowledge of accounting, finance, and financial control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) + Previous experience in Pharmacy or the Pharmaceutical industry a plus + Professional certification, such as a CPA (certified public accountant) or a CA (chartered accountant), is a plus. + Demonstrated experience leading and managing an accounting function and a team of finance professionals. + Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities + Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems + A detail-oriented approach with an ability to switch between job responsibilities quickly and seamlessly + Ability to be highly transparent, ethical, and driven + Relentless attention to detail and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player + Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. + Ability to communicate with all internal organizational levels, partners, vendors, and clients. + Ability to think and act independently, formulate and support new ideas, and champion new initiatives within and beyond the scope of one's own responsibilities + Proficient in financial management systems (Dynamics), accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and especially Excel.
