It was 1986 when the Schafer family, with Harold ready to retire from business, donated all they’d created in Medora to establish the non-profit Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. In the years since, we’ve grown from a staff of a handful of folks to more than 90 full-time employees, with hundreds more seasonal workers and over 650 volunteers. We’ve awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of scholarships to our staff. The Medora Musical has earned the attention of The New York Times. This Position: As a member of the food service team, a Busser will have the primary responsibility to assure the dining room is properly maintained to give the guests the best experience possible. + Keeps the dining room clean including, vacuuming, cleaning and refilling table condiments, polishing glasses and silverware, prepping bread and butter, filling ice container and pop machine, maintaining linens in organized manner and have clean rags and sanitizer prepared + Busses and reset tables between guests + Assist wait staff in refilling water, butters, and sugars + Learns the place setting for each meal, assists with resetting for meal times by rolling silverware and folding napkins + Greets and assists guests and alerts servers if needed + Cleans front of house and wait station to ensure restaurant is clean and organized Requirements Required Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Reliable, on time, and ready for every shift. Presents self in professional manner to others Maintains positive attitude Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, managers and guests Ability to work as part of a team Ability to use computer and train on POS Basic food-handling skills Organized and flexible to meet the needs of the business, guests and employees. Flexibility to work various roles and venues/locations. Provide outstanding guest service. Required Education and Experience Must give exceptional service to all guests. Must be able to troubleshoot and create solutions if needed. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be fluent in English, bilingual a plus. Work Environment This position is generally in an indoor setting in a controlled, temperate environment; however, some job assignments may be in facilities that have windows open to the outside and may be exposed to the heat or cold.
