Summary of Position:
The Buy Point Clerk is responsible for monitoring daily crop receiving activities, farmerstock deliveries, weighing in of deliveries and any paperwork that deals with seed, farmerstock, or field shipments. The person in this position also assists the Buy Point Manager, Farmerstock Administrator and the Farmer Stock Procurement Manager with any clerical work.
Functions of the Position: % of Time Essential/ Marginal
· Monitors farmerstock shipping and receiving operations. 30% Essential
· Operates scales to weigh incoming and outgoing loads. 25% Essential
· Assists with the sales/delivery paperwork of seed to farmers. 10% Essential
· Ensures buying point office is well stocked with necessary
supplies for day-to-day operations. 10% Essential
· Samples and regrades incoming farmerstock loads as needed. 5% Essential
· Process SC-95’s and convert them on Grossman to 1007’s and
file properly for Farmerstock Administrator during harvest. 5% Essential
· Assist Farmerstock Administrator with checking reports and
entering FSDT transfers. 5% Essential
· Assist Buying Point Manager and FS Procurement Manager as
needed. 5% Essential
· Other Duties as assigned. 5% Marginal
· Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe
and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices,
allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and
regulatory requirements.
· Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls
necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
· Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to
management.
· Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and
information within assigned team and across functional areas.
· Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as
professional and leadership development.
· Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures established
for health and workplace safety.
· Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors,
reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations as assigned. Continually

Qualifications
· Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
o High school diploma or equivalent required.
o 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving preferred.
o 2 years of experience in farmerstock operations preferred.
o Knowledge of farming practices and growers in our area preferred.

· Skills and Competencies:
o Good math skills.
o Must be fluent in English.
o Good computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office application, E-Nuts software, Grossman software, and farmerstock grading software.
Job Specific Requirements:
In the event that the Buy Point Clerk is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
