The Green Coffee Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of high-quality green coffee beans. This role involves building strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring ethical and sustainable sourcing, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Position Responsibilities:Identify and develop relationships with coffee producers, cooperatives, and exporters globally.Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, sustainability practices, and reliability.Forecast demand to avoid shortages or overstock situations.Work closely with roasting, product development, and marketing teams to ensure the coffee offerings align with brand and customer expectations.Collaborate with quality control teams to evaluate coffee samples through cupping and grading.Ensure all coffee purchased meets company quality standards and specifications and Promote fair trade, organic, and sustainable sourcing practices.Ensure suppliers comply with ethical labor practices and environmental standards.Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers to secure the best value.Manage procurement budgets and optimize costs while maintaining quality.Monitor global coffee market trends, including pricing, supply chain risks, and emerging coffee regions and Visit coffee farms and production sites to assess crops and build relationships.Provide regular updates and insights to the company on market conditions and Present sourcing and quality updates to stakeholders as needed.Collaborate with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure optimal stock levels.
