Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a BUYER, INDIRECT PROCUREMENT ANALYST. This role will be located in Benton Harbor MI.
This role will be working closely with senior business leaders, legal, and procurement to analyze, develop, and drive category-specific sourcing initiatives to meet and exceed business metrics in terms of cost, quality, service, and delivery. The position will cover around $50M in spend (not limited to this value) within Indirect Procurement, having a specific focus on the HR and Legal categories. In this role you will develop category strategies and manage multiple sourcing, and process related/continuous improvement projects. You will support/lead regional (North America) and global procurement initiatives, industry benchmarking, and new ways to improve cash flow. You may also find yourself analyzing spend data to uncover new potential opportunities and leveraging best practices from global counterparts.
Your responsibilities will includeManage the commercial relationship between Whirlpool and its suppliers of specific HR and Legal commodities (supplier sourcing, development, negotiations, issue resolution, purchase order approvals etc.)Develop collaborative relationships with business stakeholders (including senior leadership) and suppliersDrive extraordinary results in meeting critical cost savings, free cash flow, supply base rationalization, spend under contract, service quality, and business objectives. Drive change, compliance, and continuous improvementManage category activities by:Developing and implementing category strategies to drive resultsEngaging with Indirect Procurement teams from other regions and cross-functional business partners to find sourcing opportunities and synergiesSupporting business imperatives through sourcing related activitiesAnalyze spend, market insights, Service Level Agreements, and total cost of ownershipAssessing current business and legal risks in existing and or new contractsDrafting contracts and/or statements of work between Whirlpool and suppliersBuilding accountability for supplier performance relative to contracted service levelsManaging supplier pay terms in adherence to Whirlpool policyRightsizing of supply base both through addition and rationalization Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s Degree2+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Human Resources or BusinessPreferred skills and experiences
Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or other related disciplineExperience in Procurement or HRCapability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with adherence to objectives and milestonesProficient in strategic bid processes, supplier management, and other procurement principlesUnderstand Whirlpool business environment, requirements, and corporate culturePlanning, organizational, project management, financial, and analytical skillsInterpersonal, motivational, and influential skills to engage business partnersCustomer focus with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the businessWritten and verbal communication, with proficient presentation skills
