The individual will be seen as the expert for assigned commodities and play a key role in developing strategies that support the plant and BorgWarner globally. The candidate will provide commodity industry insight and advise and lead the strategic direction to drive competitive advantage for BorgWarner.

Standard Duties : 

Lead supplier negotiations, sourcing and managing supplier performance for assigned products and services with little to no management assistance.Working with Global Commodity Managers, develop and execute commodity strategies at local level. Investigate and develop global sourcing opportunities whenever possible to consolidate and leverage across BorgWarner locations.Grounded in a sound understanding of supply markets and deliver significant and sustainable reductions to the bottom line.Lead business teams to leverage knowledge to develop global strategies across multiple facilities.Develop and implement long and short-range plans and objectives to ensure cost-effective and efficient management of plant requirements.Work with global BorgWarner team to coordinate Sourcing for new production launches by establishing and leading cross-functional supplier teams.Implement continuous improvement programs with suppliers that result in cost reductions.Develop long-term partnerships with world-class suppliers.Introduce the organization to new technical developments in materials and components, which will help the organization achieve its objectives.Work with other BW plants to benchmark suppliers and purchasing best practices.Perform job functions in accordance with applicable quality, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.Monitor industry trends and dynamics and communicate to business on periodic basis.Responsible for all commercial discussions with the supplierAccurately maintain supplier Purchase Orders and Schedule Agreements.Maintain monthly/ quarterly commodity adjustments for the supply base and accurately reflect same in plant forecast.Accurately maintain monthly cost reduction forecasts.Purchases material/ services in line with strategies for battery commoditiesWorks in alignment with Production Control and Logistics to supplier shortage and supply issue timelines.Responsible for capacity planning and communication to suppliers.Assist negotiations of basic supplier agreements.Coordinates supplier relationship with internal functions.Achieve cost and performance objectives in line with existing strategies.Lead negotiations of basic supplier agreements.Leads meetings with cross functional teams to support disposition of eSCR final decisions.Prepares and maintains required records and files for tariff recovery and disposition.Confers with finance team to resolve identified purchasing related issuesUpdates purchase orders at regular intervals per current supplier agreements.

           

Additional Information:

Travel is occasionally required, up to 5% of the time.
