Eaton’s GEIS division is currently seeking a Buyer. ​

The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Buyer manages the buying and planning of materials supporting the manufacturing team. This position involves extensive relationship management with assigned vendors and manufacturers in addition to internal operations, customer service, engineering, and new product program management.


In this function you will: 
1.    Evaluate and Audit Suppliers: Conduct quality audits of current suppliers and identify potential new suppliers to ensure a robust supply chain.
2.    Negotiate Pricing and Terms: Engage in negotiations to secure favorable pricing and terms that meet financial and delivery requirements.
3.    Manage EHS Compliance and Supplier Transitions: Oversee the Mesh Safety Module for EHS compliance and manage transitions when sourcing changes occur.
4.    Create Monthly Reports and Manage SAP: Generate monthly reports on steel product stock positions and maintain SAP with current material costs.
5.    Identify and Resolve Supply Gaps: Work with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve potential supply gaps before they impact delivery schedules.
6.    Optimize Supplier Stocking and Resolve Discrepancies: Partner with suppliers to optimize stocking positions and resolve any invoice discrepancies with Financial Shared Services.
7.    Order Supplies and Manage Inventory: Handle the ordering of supplies for cardboard manufacturing and miscellaneous packaging, ensuring timely procurement.
8.    Prepare and Process Purchase Orders: Use SAP to prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
9.    Analyze Forecasts and Manage Inventory Levels: Analyze forecasts to manage inventory levels, address vendor constraints, and ensure proper bin and blanket PO levels.
10.  Maintain Relationships and Implement Lean Practices: Foster strong relationships with vendors and internal teams, and apply lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve processes and reduce waste.
11.  Additional Duties: Other duties may be allocated as assigned by business needs.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited university.
•    Minimum three (3) years’ experience performing purchasing functions in a manufacturing environment  
•    Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
•    No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor's degree in a supply chain management field from an accredited institution
•    Experience with electrical components or mechanical (metals) components
•    SAP experience preferred
•    Desire CPIM and/or  APICS certification
•    Lean manufacturing experience preferred

Skills:

•    Ideal candidate has a good understanding of manufacturing processes.
•    Comfortable with technology and has a strong working knowledge of MS office suite and ERP system(s) 
•    Must be able to observe, evaluate, summarize and communicate effectively.
•    Must have an analytical and process-driven approach, with a high attention to detail.
•    Capability in multi-tasking, including prioritization of work and management / organization of time.
•    Superb influencing / negotiation skills and ability to influence for results without hierarchical authority – 
•    Strong managerial courage and ability to work through resistance and pushback to change.
•    Requires excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
•    Strong drive for results is essential, with self-directed leadership, requiring minimal supervision & being proactive.
•    Must possess high ethical standards.
•    Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, changing environment. 
•    Must possess strong professional presence.
•    Must be able to identify and implement process improvements.
