We are hiring an experienced Buyer to join the Procurement Team in our Mountain View, CA location. 

Summary:

The Buyer is responsible for procuring materials, components, and subassemblies required for the manufacturing of saleable products, ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier performance, and implementing procurement strategies to meet business objectives. The Buyer will also support cost reduction initiatives and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure optimal supply chain performance.

Essential Duties:

Coordinates all activities related to procurement of a commodity, product line or supplier, beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.Releases and manages work orders and rework work-ordersResponsible for parts procurement, product on-time-delivery, materials on-time-delivery, linear shipment scheduling and processing non-conforming materialResponsible for sales order ship date maintenance and establishing sales order shipment datesPlans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materialsPurchases materials, using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levelsGathers quotations, examines bids and makes awardsDevelops specifications for new contract ordersObtains materials, components and equipmentEvaluates vendor reliability, develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequateMonitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value, and all other duties as assignedMaintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, collaborating with management, sales, production or engineering.

Required Qualifications:

5-10 years of procurement/supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of supply and demand planning, including MRP (Material Requirements Planning) functions and ERP systems.Excellent negotiation skills with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPointWorking knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen

Preferred Qualifications:

BS degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or relevant fieldWorking knowledge of ISO9001 and/or AS9100Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS compliance.Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CPSM, CSCP)

Other Qualifications

Active Government Security ClearanceUS Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.

  

Salary Range:

$61,600.00-$82,100.000
