Develop and drive local sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and cost savings for the organization and ensure representation of global initiatives.

Responsibilities Analyze and develop market knowledge and determine current and future material projections. Evaluate suppliers and vendor performance to conform to quality expectations and identify areas of improvements. Resolve vendor issues related to inbound freight, damage, labeling and deviations from quantities and products ordered. Negotiate and contract best alternatives for materials and services. Implement and sustain contracts. Implement improved purchasing methods to reduce costs through alternative and cost-effective processes. Support inventory reduction initiatives.  Regularly review and maintain target inventory levels and take action to avoid shortages, out of stock material and backorders. Adhere and deploy the global SWEP sourcing strategies and master the global purchasing processes. Drive complete and accurate processing of purchase orders, credits and charge backs. Actively participate in new product development and transfer projects.

 

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Bachelor’s degree is desired or 10+ years related work experience in lieu of degree. Minimum of 5 years work experience in manufacturing, purchasing, or related job function Supplier sourcing experience preferred Skills and Competencies Strong negotiation and time management skills. Written and verbal communication in a clear and concise manner across all levels in the organization Good team spirit and well-developed interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, ERP, and internet. Excellent analytical skills, detail oriented and proven problem solving ability. Positive attitude and be committed to achieving business excellence
