While reporting to the Manufacturing Services Manager the Plant Buyer will be responsible for technical sales support for field sales force, supplying product performance resolution, identifying product and process improvements, serving as liaison between equipment manufacturers and end users, and coordinating efforts between company technical, marketing, and sales staff. The position also works with new business development manager, marketing, and technical staff to introduce and commercialize new products and processes, to coordinate product trials, to support sales in identification of sales targets and applications, and to perform independent customer calls as needed. The position provides training for sales representatives in product and process applications, competitive strategies and trends, equipment developments, and quality performance.

What you will be doing:

Build and maintain strong relationships with film key suppliersPurchase of raw material according to system requirementsAnalyze pricing, lead-time in order to make an informed purchasing decisionPlan releases from suppliers and manage for available inventory in alignment with scheduled productionInventory management (Forecasting, Planning, Warehousing, FIFO and material discrepancies)Analyze customers demand / historical consumptions when planning for raw materials to prevent over /or under-stockingCoordinate rework raw material through plantMonitor aged inventory Ensure approved raw materials are allocated to production as per customer specificationsMaintain continuous communications with suppliers to improve lead times on orders placed and avoid any production delaysProcess SCARs for non-conformance material / late deliveries, communicate and follow up with suppliersSupports technical team and coordinate for sourcing raw material required for trials / new development productsParticipate in Supply Chain continuous improvement projectsWork directly with Division Supply Chain on inventory levels

This will be located at our Mississauga Flexibles plant.

Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment for purchasing, administrative, or equivalent Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principlesSupply Chain, demand management certifications are a plusOrganization and planning abilities Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
