As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in managing indirect spend and ensuring the efficient procurement of high-quality materials and services. You’ll be responsible for building strong supplier relationships, streamlining purchasing processes, and ensuring timely delivery to support our operations across Canada. Responsibilities Supplier Management: Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, favorable terms, and timely deliveries Procurement Planning: Collaborate with internal teams to assess demand forecasts and inventory levels, ensuring purchasing aligns with operational needs while minimizing supply chain risks Contract Management: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing supplier contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies and compliance with regulatory standards Order Management: Place and track purchase orders (predominantly indirect spend), ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services that meet quality and compliance standards Process Improvement: Contribute to process enhancements aimed at improving procurement efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service quality across the supply chain Data Analysis and Reporting: Provide regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost metrics to support decision-making Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as warehouse, finance, and operations to ensure procurement supports the business needs effectively Risk Management: Monitor and address procurement risks related to supplier performance, market conditions, and potential disruptions, ensuring continuity of operations Other duties as assigned Competencies 3-5 years of experience in procurement or buying, ideally within the heavy equipment or manufacturing industry.
