Overview: The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of either raw goods or components for Operations through qualified vendors. Participates in forecasting efforts, manage and measure performance of current vendors, assist in new vendor qualifications, and facilitate new product introductions into Operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Review and analyze current product demands for Operations.
• Issue purchase and transfer orders to meet customer needs, including expediting product.
• Confer with vendors to obtain product information such as pricing, availability and delivery schedules.
• Create and maintain item master records with accurate information for MRP processing.
• Facilitate material cost reduction initiatives.
• Maintain vendor relationships and track vendor metrics including quality and delivery.
• Analyze surplus inventory and identify inventory reduction opportunities.
• Participate in cross functional teams including Engineering, Accounting, Sales, Operations and Marketing.
• Other responsibilities, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain or other related business disciplines or equivalent combination of years of experience and education.
• Strong experience in Microsoft office including Outlook, Excel, Word.
• Experience in Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
• Attention to detail oriented.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, timely, and the ability to prioritize.
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
• Good understanding of the S&OP process.
• Enthusiastic attitude with good listening skills.
