Description

· Responsible for the purchase of goods, materials, components or services in line with negotiated cost, quality and delivery targets

· Responsible for ensuring continuous supply of required goods and materials, responsible for communicating any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations

· Monitor market suppliers, market trends for opportunity

· Provide updates and reports as and when required

· In coordination with “Materials Manager” develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement

· In coordination with “Materials Manager” utilize negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods to negotiate contracts, pricing and terms of business with suppliers

· Evaluate supplier performance and undertake reviews to ensure contract compliance

· Identify alternative sources for goods and materials to ensure supply chain redundancy

· Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers that are in line with organizational targets and requirements

· Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues

· Active participant in the company’s year-end inventory review

Additional Skills & Qualifications

· Business administration or accounting degree with 3-5 years of applicable experience or 5-7 years of relatable experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

· Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers

· Possess strong negotiation, contract management and communication skills

· Analytical with well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

· Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against communicated targets

· High level of detail and accuracy

· Proven purchasing experience, preferably within a chemical manufacturing environment

· Knowledge of ERP software

· Experienced in the Microsoft Office environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00
