The Opportunity

 

Initiates and executes all requested purchases for assigned categories, per existing supply strategies.  Manages assigned supply base to ensure product conformance to specifications, adherence to confirmed order quantities and shipping schedules, at the lowest total cost to Tradebe.  Recommends changes to existing supply strategies, and interfaces with Operations, Engineering, Field Services, EH&S, P&C, and Accounts Payable associates as needed or required. 

Key Job Responsibilities

 

Follow all regulations, standards, and internal policies, to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.  Initiates and executes formal purchase requisitions for all requested Direct and Indirect materials and services for the assigned company location.   Secures formal quotations from approved supply base and analyzes against current/historical actual costs and requester’s delivery requirements. Provides recommendations for any variances to original estimate. Communicates and manages performance expectations and general requirements to assigned supply base. Manages supplier capacities/lead times and determines MOQs/EOQs to manage costs and improve overall supply. Provides planned order data to suppliers to drive capacity planning and on-time delivery requirements. Identifies and makes recommendations for areas of cost reduction and facilitates cost reduction projects with timely execution. Establishes, measures, and reviews KPI’s for key suppliers, facilitating continuous improvement. Initiates, supports, and/or assists with the identification and qualification of new sources of supply. Ensures data integrity in SAP by maintaining accurate purchase order information, such as supplier details, costs, and delivery dates. Additionally, manages item-specific data, including standard costs, safety stock, and supplier lead times. Provides timely disposition on invoice discrepancies and non-conforming material, where applicable. Provides support toward any Transportation, Freight, or Logistics issues as needed or required. Supports Strategic Sourcing initiatives as required. Special projects as assigned. Qualifications

 

Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field. At least four years of experience in domestic and offshore direct and indirect purchasing, including raw materials, MRO, supplies, and services. In-depth knowledge of global market conditions, cost drivers, and demand management/replenishment principles (e.g., Kanban). Strong project management skills with a proven track record of completing objectives on schedule and achieving results. Expertise in negotiation, consistently achieving optimal outcomes for cost, quality, and shipping requirements. Proficient in Operations/Business System software with the ability to analyze data to meet business needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience coordinating efforts across internal departments and external suppliers. Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making skills; takes initiative and works independently. Willingness to travel domestically as required.
