Job Description
As a Buyer III, you will coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising for the establishment. You will confer with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services.Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information.Work directly in support of line operations and in collaboration with department managers, engineers, or operations staff.Estimate values according to market price knowledge and determine the method of procurement.Prepare bid specifications, receive bids, and make purchases of commodities or goods.Work out remedies for defective or unacceptable goods or services with relevant personnel.Provide work direction and training to other professional staff and non-exempt buyers.Essential SkillsVendor relationsProcurementERP/SAP5+ years experience with professional purchasing activitiesBachelor’s degree or equivalentExperience reading blueprints, symbols, and bills of materialInventoryNegotiationBuyer purchasingRaw materialManufacturing buyingBid evaluationAdditional Skills & QualificationsDemonstrated ability to drive cost-effective procurement through supplier collaborationPractical knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain strategiesStrong negotiation and analytical skillsKnowledge of operations, scheduling, and purchasing procedures, MRP systems, and supply chain best practicesAbility to exercise discretion and independent judgment with minimal supervisionStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficient in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $75000.00
