The role we are offering you: Buyer is responsible for Category Strategy, Strategic Sourcing, Critical Supplier Management and Stakeholder Management for assigned sub-categories. He/she will develop long-term strategies aligned with key stakeholders within the Organization. The individual will also be accountable for managing critical suppliers, strategic sourcing in collaboration with the Category and the Value Stream Manager, monitoring and evaluating and improving supplier performance, developing the supplier base and conducting research to support the category strategy. By joining our Global Strategic Sourcing team, you will have the opportunity to participate in exciting sourcing and process improvement opportunities to support delivery of CAE strategic vision. Collaborating and working alongside our CORE team, you will identify, analyze, evaluate the right vendors, right technology, and support the growth of CAE. Key responsibilities and expectations include: + Develops, communicates, and executes strategies and objectives for the worldwide sourcing of goods and services. + Leads formulation and implementation of category strategies. Identifies and conducts cross-functional cost reduction initiatives on sourced products. + Conducts market intelligence to identifies opportunities and channel innovation. Provides expert recommendations to internal stakeholders. Collaborate closely and deploy strategy with the category vendor manager. Develops and manages supplier relationships. + Execution of the strategy developed by commodity, through a collaborative and inclusive approach with all Business Unit Stakeholders. + Promotion and communication of the sourcing strategy for assigned categories to the Category Manger and Value Stream Manager Also, development of and/or contribution to an action plan to evolve sourcing into a strategic business function. + Identification of cost optimization opportunities across the company and presentation of concise recommendations/plans to management. + Purchase goods, materials, and commodities to ensure that production operational needs are met, considering price, quality, delivery lead times, supplier penalties and ensuring continuity of supply. These tasks include, sending RFQs, placing orders, expediting, and returning non confirmed parts. Managing invoice discrepancies. + Perform multi-supplier RFQs/RFIs + Negotiate and challenge supplier pricing, payment terms and delivery lead times as required + Create and maintain blanket purchase agreement (BPA) and catalogs as the purchase-to-pay (P2P) processes super user, guide suppliers and stakeholders alike whilst enforcing CAE purchasing policies Our Ideal candidate has: + Either college diploma (or equivalent) with min 3years of experience + Strong negotiation skills + Relationship building skills. + Excellent task and project management skills. + Excellent oral and written communication skills and good presentation skills in English and French. + Ability to manage geographically dispersed vendors.
