Your role:
As a buyer, you will be responsible for managing the supply of products and/or services on the purchasing families in your scope. You will work to deploy a purchasing strategy to mitigate “Supply” risks while optimizing costs. Your role will consist of understanding the needs of internal partners to find a solution that is beneficial to both the internal partner and the supplier. You will represent the interests of Michelin, at the regional or zone level in line with the Michelin Purchasing Principles.
We need you for:
DEPLOYMENT OF STRATEGY, PURCHASING TACTICS AND VALUE CREATION
Define and challenge the short-medium term needs of internal partners: Establish specifications for any new service/product request.Understand the market, its opportunities and threats (Porter's 5 forces model).Make calls for tenders and negotiate: Request for Information/Price/Quote (RFI, RFQ, RFP).Select and negotiate with suppliers on subjects specific to the Site in accordance with the regional or global strategy.Draft agreements in collaboration with the Purchasing Contract Manager.Decide on sourcing tactics based on Total Cost of Ownership analyses.Place orders with suppliers following purchase requisition requests from internal customers.Support the definition of the Purchasing strategy with the category manager and the network.Analyze/segment the portfolio on purchasing families (Kraljic model).INTERNAL/EXTERNAL PARTNER RELATIONSHIP:
Define and manage supplier progress plans in partnership with the Purchasing Contract Manager.Capture innovation opportunities with suppliers.Implement and deploy procurement cost reduction projects/initiatives.Facilitate the application of the Purchase to Pay process: creation of suppliers (Graphite, Hermes); monitoring of unpaid orders/invoices (Open Text).Support initiatives related to supplier performance management.RISK MANAGEMENT
Assess/anticipate risks (particularly business continuity) and implement corrective plans as needed.Handle disputes if necessary (non-conformity, supply problems, etc.).What do you need to possess for being successful?
You have a bachelor's degree in business administration or economics or equivalent.You have at least 5 years' experience in procurement in a national and/or international company.You have technical knowledge of one or more technologies/processes specific to commodities (rubber, metal, plastics, chemicals, etc.).You are at ease in a bilingual environment (French and English), so you can communicate orally and in writing with your colleagues and our international partners.You are detail-oriented, rigorous and problem-solving.You like to travel abroad (about 20% of the time).Our Candidate and New Hire Experience Promise:
