Job Description

Source, monitor, and negotiate with suppliers during the bid process to obtain the best pricing, quality, and lead time value for the company on materials used in the production process. Plan, release, monitor, and manage purchase orders and delivery dates upon award of contracts to support production schedules. Coordinate with suppliers for returns and replenishment of discrepant material to minimize impact on the production process. Assist in supplier audits, both internal and external, and interface with suppliers, engineering, quality, and production to maintain material availability and flow. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Perform all other duties as assigned.

ResponsibilitiesSource, monitor, and negotiate with suppliers during the bid process to obtain optimal pricing, quality, and lead time value.Plan, release, monitor, and manage purchase orders and delivery dates to support production schedules.Coordinate with suppliers for returns and replenishment of discrepant material to minimize production impact.Assist in internal and external supplier audits.Interface with suppliers, engineering, quality, and production teams to maintain material availability and flow.Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.Perform all other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience with MRP, purchasing, purchase orders, and ERP systems.3-5 years of manufacturing experience.3-5 years of purchasing experience.5-10 years of comparable purchasing experience.Ability to read technical drawings, understand Bill of Materials, and familiarity with various commodities and component manufacturing methods.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft applications.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious purchasing experience in a Government Contracting environment, including FAR Clauses.Sourcing and negotiation experience.Procurement and supply chain knowledge.Engineering understanding.Vendor management skills.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
